ETFC v Dulwich Hamlet

Enfield United

Recommended Posts

Bad luck guys, sounds like a great seven goal thriller for neutrals, and a much improved, very spirited performance by 'The Town'.

This was always going to be a difficult match against a good Dulwich side, lying fifth in the league, but we ran them close and can take a lot of confidence from this result.

Chins up everyone, let's aim to maintain this level of commitment and performance, so we can turn things around as quickly as possible.

I just witnessed the best footballing team in the Ryman League. Dulwich controlled the first 45 minutes by playing the ball around and used their tremendous pace up front to worry the life out of our defenders and take a deserved two nil lead at half time. Just what was said at half time? ETFC came out with all guns blazing and got back into the game by playing direct football with a purpose.

However, Dulwich always had too much up front for us and deserved the win.

Well done to Peter and Brian.

Agree with pretty much everything apart from "controlled the first 45 minutes". I thought they controlled the second half of the first half. The first half of the first half was even-Stevens.

Overall, we showed we could punch our weight in this division against one of the top teams. At times we played some really nice football and we should definitely come away from this game with belief. It was a fantastic fight-back to get to 2-2 and Mark should NOT blame himself (he did what he had to do as the last man standing). He was absolutely gutted, but I know that in matches to come he will be our hero.

Well done the team, especially the U21s who came in and put in a good shift, and well done Peter and Bryan who, in the last couple of games (including the friendly), have put a bit of 'oomph' in the team.

We WILL start moving up that table. No doubt.

COYT!!!!!

Agree with the above comments. It was a very good game of football and Dulwich are a decent side who will be right up their when it comes down to the title/play off race. We ran them close for a period in the second half. Their number 10 Erhan Oztumer was the best player i've seen in the Ryman Premier for a long time. From this performance it's no wonder football league scouts have been looking at him. Their fourth goal from Xavier Vidal (another to attract league scouts) was unstoppable strike.

I like the look of Rhys Paul at right back. Looks decent promising player.

All in all more positive and shows it's certainly not all over yet. We will finish outside of the bottom four I'm sure of it.

A very spirited display which was ably demonstrated by an episode which does not appear in Cold End's video. There was a loose ball going out wide to enfield's right wing with the Dulwich goalie trotting out to collect the ball. Liam sprinted to the ball and got there first and was able to bring it back threatening the Dulwich goal. Last week Liam would not have done that and it demonstrated to me that this team has got Bryan's work ethic something which has been lacking for a long time.

However we still lost but I was not expecting anything else yesterday - the three goals yesterday were a real tonic and here's hoping for brighter and better things next week as Leiston are clearly not in Dulwich's class.
