Went To Watch Hornchurch Today

And saw them get a good 2-0 win over Darlington. Never really looked like losing an Vinny John and KK Opara upfront caused endless problems with their ability to hold the ball up.

The reason I post this on here was about their setup. OK, they've thrown a bit of money at it, but we can learn a lot from the way they are operating. It just made me realise even more now about how much of a bodge job Deaner really is doing at this club. He put the club up for sale a few years back now and turned an offer down which came in from a consortium which could have taken us forward, but no.

I really do hope this trust takes off with Slough fans and we can either take our current club forward or reform and rebuild it from scratch and move on up. With the current chairman at this club, the only way we're going is down.

Really Chris? Could have fooled me. Sat in the bar with some of their players/staff after the game and there was such a unity about them all. Not only that but so friendly in the bar as well, something they could have learnt at Wexham Park?

There was such a buzz about the place today which I think will carry on, something which has been sadly lacking from Slough for some time now, and not something I think we will get back in the near future.

You do seem to think that every other club is having troubles, yet appear not to acknowledge our own?? I can understand that to a point, but if we want to move forward as a club we need to address these issues and solve them. Let's start doing that rather than sitting around doing very little. I think that could go for a lot of us, me included.

Steady on, Roger, you'll have Mr Anonymous after you saying you spelt F****** wrong!

However, you are dead right - everything about the club is increasingly smoke and mirrors, whilst the rainbow with the pot of gold keeps moving. No wonder the support is slowly but surely eroding away - PEOPLE NEED SOME GOOD NEWS - ARE YOU LISTENING, ALL YOU OFFICIALS?

The only thing that we can actually see is the team performance, which, let's face it, is disappointing - no top six finish on this form.

For the rest it appears FRUS is up to its ears in debt, we are on borrowed time on the ground, forced to move matches at short notice, we still only have an acting manager, no sign of the feasibility study for Kennedy Park even starting, no sign of any real enthusiasm from the council now they think they have got us off their backs, (not even Councillor Janik having a go, so he must reckon it's a dead duck!) no signs of a move back to Wexham Park, the Trust unlikely to be going for months.

Come on Club, IF you want to keep the support, give us something to work on to keep the enthusiasm going, you can't rely on the blind faith of loyal fans for ever! Even we are getting P*ssed off!

Well that is about it for me !

The airying of dirty washing should be kept to the people within our club, and off the forum we do it a lot though and talk and speak a good story, it really is time for you to make action !

This makes me very bitter and I will consider what action I make and resign from Slough Town Supporters ......23 years service is quite enough and the continuing belief that you can all do better, tells me it is time to stand aside.

It is so easy to critise when you have no clue on all the complex issues just to keep Slough Town FC out of the headlines (which some believe this maybe the only way to go forward) then let it be! it has been so hard to keep the wheels of this club on and together and endless nights of worry, that many of you would have not idea about....

Its not a question of wink wink say no more ! its just sometimes things for leagal reasons need to be kept under the lip !

I was prepared to tell Gary -my information as at Hornchurch again run by one man , who at any time could walk away, is not how I see the future of our club ! to be run by one man as this could go seriously wrong again as it has done for us under the Thornes.....

If We are serious the only way to go forward is to deal with forming a new club and trying to secure a new ground and future for Slough Town owned and run by the supporters trust.

So what have we been for the past five/six years? Martyn Deaner hiding the fact he's single handedly 'bankrolling' the club by harping on about the consortium behind the club this and that?

The difference is, they're actually putting the cash up at Hornchurch and building the infrastructure to support things should things change in the future. We've waited six years and only gone backwards...

I have left a message for you to call me...on your phone....and here on the site...

but no call yet....

interesting little chat there Chris.....most interesting of all is your comments about gossip et al yet you obviously seek to spread crap behind the scenes about HFC when clearly you know nothing about our club....I can say that for a fact because the only people that do are those dear and close to me and you aint one of 'em...

truth is mate...you seek solace in the hope of other peoples troubles...well we aint got none but you most definately have and I know a lot more about them than you appear to do...so be careful what you say on here about us or I'll start posting a few things on our forum that you most certainly wouldn't like....

as for Gary...well I invited him over to our ground and he and his friends are most welcome anytime....if they see things that give them an opinion on perhaps changing things at their own club...well thats a good thing...learning takes us forward....

Gary has done a lot to help your club and I dont just mean posting drivel on here and standing outside town hall....

your club is in terminal decline....I respect your support of that club but have to say its misguided....fans of Slough can do more to help the club by being strong minded and determined and accepting reality than hiding behind promises and more promises that never materialise.....

look at the difference in fortunes between our two clubs in the past three years and hand on heart tell yourself its just bad luck and it will all come right....

Mr Macawber mean anything to you Chris....??

talks cheap but bricks build houses.....

and don't tell me its non of my business....you made it my business by openly inferring that there were problems at HFC...there aint.....

only how many we can get into the ground for the Tranmere cup tie....

there's a thought.......you are invited to the game as my personal guest....come see for yourself instead of hoping that all is not right in urchinarea....

you might learn something....

sorry Gary but his comments were out of order on here and invited comment....

thanks....

Uncle Urchin...I was making reference to all clubs matey ...and that however you might think most clubs have skeletons in their own cupboard...in fact you may have open your own cans of worms...by your reply....

If something has been said in confidence to one of our own supporters about our own problems that is where it should stay....that was all my comments were about...and the fact that Gary can comment on things he does not know.....(about how any club is run)

So mr Uncle urchin......

have you something to tell me....???

or can we keep our own business to ourselves please....

My comments were a general comment about most of what is wrong in football today...not about

HORNCHURCH.........

Gary and I have many conversations about this over a season where by he gets depressed and then tell the world that other clubs are run better etc etc

Regards chris

The matter that I was trying to tell Gary ...that there has been a connection with an old member of Slough Town FC and the new Hornchurch set up...and was asked to keep him and his name from the link.....

And that I will do ! ........

Mr Urchin......!!!

nothing more nothing less......

regards chris

Focusing on the most important thing that Chris S said....the ONLY way forward (and has been for a couple of years) is to start all over again. MD is welcome to what is called Slough Town FC. It is not the same club anymore and the fans need to move on.

I would rather start right at the bottom again with a "Fans" club and know that the support is appreciated

Chris...firstly Gary and I never discuss Slough Town business...take that as read...

if I have any comments about another club then I will post them on the forums....frankly I am not interested at all in other clubs which is why most of...if not all of my posts are wind ups and piss takes...

I am only interested in HFC but will if possible help any club as I am a football fan as well as an HFC fan...

your post was most certainly indicating that there was trouble at HFC...read it thru again if you disagree....of that there is no doubt....

you opened up the discussion with your comments....you were out of order its a simple as that...you asked for what you got in reply....

I have never discussed your's or anyone else's business on an open forum and most certainly never 'hinted' about problems at clubs...even when I knew that there were problems...

you want to get a reality check in place chris and start sorting your own problems out....its slough that have the problems...not HFC....and to understand that you have problems is not exactly 'D' notice stuff is it....all you have to do is come on here...

you have my sympathies...I think you all know that I have a soft spot for your club...but if you start throwing stones Chris then expect them back....

why not throw a few yourself....in the right direction next time...

Uncle.....accept my apolgies if the tread was taken out of content....I am a Non League football supporter of a great team and will do all possible to ensure we do go forward...

I just hate it when our business is put onto the web pages, I will fight for Slough for ever dispite the kicks and knocks we get...

I mean this .......Good luck against Tranmere !

and hope you win....and for your team to go forward too.........

The story to my reply was that there is so much wrong in football in general terms ...and how team who are doing well can have the rug removed from underneath them in a split second.

So we should not look at things with rose tinted glasses......

thats all and mayne this did not come out to well in my reply..again I apologze for this...

cheers Chris

thank you Chris...apology not required but gracefully accepted...whats a little tiff between good supporters...

its not alway necessary to support the same club to respect each other and help each other if we can...

we have a litle matter of Bedford in the league tonight so we'll put the cup excitement on the back burner for a while....and I meant what I said...any of you guys want to come over for the Tranmere game you are most welcome although now its on a Saturday perhaps you'll be playing yourselves...maybe not...

anyway....I'll sort the tickets out....ask Gary...

I'm good at that sort of thing....!!
