FA Trophy exit

ok, just got in from the home of my favourite team and the only thing that I can say is,,,,,,,,,,,..................................................................... WTF.

I understand due to injuries and suspensions that we were down to the bare bones of a sparse team anyways, but to then see Mr (playmaker) Bodkin in defence made me think that things were worse than I had previously feared.  Oh no, things get worse apparently ( and I hope the players do check this website) because I was informed that Mr Walsh refused to play in defence as he has signed as a " Striker", well there is no "i" in team and if the management requires you to take a position on the field then as a "team" member do as your told and get on with it.

As regards the opposing team their No 7 and their No 9 seemed to run the game and we never closed them down with enough effectiveness so they played thru us rather than coming up against what should of been a brick wall.  However Im not taking anything away from them as a team as they "were" better than us by a country mile but we were depleted in so many places........ so cometh my next rant, Mr Osbourne and Holloway if you are not in charge of the players that are in your charge then get to grips with the players that are giving you trouble and either get rid or discipline them     no one person is bigger than the team, the team that an ever decreasing amount of supporters are willing to spend their very hard earned money to come and watch.  Im absolutely  positive that the wages you are (as a team)  are being given are more than adequate for your services - in which I mean - we PAY for the privilege of watching you play the great game of football to the  best of your abilities and not to watch you going through the motions of just being on the same pitch as the opposing team.

Have I made a foopah by posting so early after the game - will I be slated for putting my opinion out there ...... who cares as I pay my monies and am entitled to post my opinion to whoever is sad enough to read it.

On a positive note I have to say what a good player Mr Whitlock is/gonna be, and Mr Vizzard should IMHO take the wages of Mr Ademono because he wants/deserves it more

Rant over and look forward to your opinions cos thats all Im doing :)

Walsh is not a great striker anyhow! When we signed him it was under the promise he plays as a striker. Do we really need these types here? I left at half time couldnt bare to watch any more. There goal keeper was vocal and orgainised his team well! They ran rings around us.

If this is true about Walsh then clearly its not acceptable. However he was the best Margate player by a mile today. He ran and chased all game, which is more than can be said for the rest of them.

Sorry but if you reckon he was the best MFC player then My mums the queen and therefore you should bow before me............... lol

I've said before im a fan, but no bias he was the best of a poor bunch today, looked genuinely knackered and disappointed at the end, apparently didn't enjoy being a centre half last season so no point playing him there today as you can't give your best if your not enjoying it. he did have one headed chance today from a cross but it was just the one mind not helped by having the best crosser at the club playing right back, but we were done to the bones as mentioned.

Maybe I can answer a few questions that have been posted on this thread.

1) Walsh has NEVER refused to play as a centre back. If you were to talk to him you will find that he is a TEAM player first and foremost.

2) Elliot Cox got injured in training on Thursday night and Matt Bodkin was asked to play as a right back. He has played in this position before.

3)  Joe Vines was at the match as could be seen before the match as he was helping in the warm up.

Finally if any of you want to confirm the above facts I am sure Craig or Simon would be willing to talk to anyone on Tuesday.

and why have a player on the bench that is injured, i thought someone said on the forum a couple of weeks ago that the club was going in the right direction with the youth progression from 18s to 21s and then into first team but then have a bench with an injured player and the 40 odd year old joint manager. Also could'nt understand why when Ademeno came off why we did'nt give young Vizzard the chance and put a midfielder on instead

Thanks for your opinions.

Would agree Walsh a team player. As I said he played well today and was probably the best player.

Confusion about Cox caused by naming him as sub on team sheet and announcing him as sub. Shouldn't have done that if he was injured on Thursday. This is why many of us couldn't understand Matt playing at right back with Cox on bench.

the above info was given to me by  a "very" close member of the MFC set up and therefore read as fact - and as a Conference standard defender would that not have been the best choice rather than taking our play-maker (matt Bodkin) from midfield, either bad man management or poor foresight - and before its mentioned Im not a football manager but an avid supporter of our great club

"I have never heard such utter bollocks in my life. I'd like to put something straight Phil Walsh has never refused to play centre half"

That is a tweet from Craig Holloway that hopefully puts to bed all this talk about Walshy saying this or that.

Hopefully as Walshy can not defend himself we can close this rumour once and all.

if this is so then why oh why play matt bodkin in defence rather than the position that best pushes this team  forward..... flabbergasted at this decision
