Saturday 16th November Matches

Disappointing hearing all the hype from knaphill, so travel down to watch them today. Outplayed, unorganised , no way in hell if thats there best finish top 3 in league. There defence is all over the place. Granted preston played the game ugly well but come on. Sorry knappers there is 5 or 6 teams better than you lot this year.

Hmmm, where do i begin with this…..

East Preston are a fantastic footballing side.  They train 3 times a week, are on contracts and are all paid too. The level of football that they are playing is borne out by their position in their league if you look at the table. They are 10 points clear (already) of the nearest opposition and frankly won't be where they are for long. We always knew that this was going to be a tough game for us but we gave it our all and the lads put a real shift in. Everyone at the club is incredibly proud of the effort they have put in in getting this far for the first time in the clubs history.

Today sadly we were punching above our weight.

Anyone who looks at todays CUP game as an indicator of league performance, clearly hasn't done their research!  I can guarantee you that not one team in the CLL Div 1 would have beaten East Preston today and i doubt that many in the Prem would have done so either.  As for the other teams in Div 1, well look at the results. They are all over the place. Staines lost today as did Epsom Athletic, both teams who have been touted as contenders for promotion.

The simple and common sense facts of the matter are that this is the most open Div 1 has been in years. It's anyones at the moment but it comes down to results. Whoever goes up has to get the job done.

For us at Knaphill, with a new side this season, we will just continue to go about our business and do our best.  What will be will be.

Well played East Preston and good luck in the next round. Those lads are going to go far.

Molesey 3 Ash Utd 2

oh dear yet again another league defeat & again by one goal

Molesey started the game well & should have taken the lead but from a freekick the Molesey keeper did well to tip the ball onto the crossbar but we reacted quicker to nod home the ball to give Ash the lead. It wasn't long tho before Molesey were level with a good finish.

2nd half molesey dominated but couldnt find the final ball & again against the run off play we regained the lead which we held onto until the final ten minutes when it all went wrong. Firstly our forward was rightly sent off for a bad challenge & soon after Molesey equalised only for them to get the winner in injury time with a very well worked & finished goal.

Overall cant complain about the result as Molesey did look the more dangerous side, but again we showed glimpses of what we can do

Really Dave? I never knew that. Don't know much about the Sussex county league and only read up on them lately as we've played two Sussex teams now. Youth played lancing in the FA youth Cup

One thing I do know, they've sure as hell got their act together right now. They were different gravy (as the kids say) today

Hope you're well mate. Not seen you since the kingfield charity match!

no team in div 1 would have lived with east Preston today was a different class and couldn't see any ccl prem side beating them but your entitled to your opinion

I agree with the first line Gilesy but not the 2nd.  I don't think Knaphill helped themselves with playing 3 at the back left gaping holes which East Preston exploited.  I think although not sure that the tactics may have been borne out of necessity rather than choice esp the fact Ruggles was one of the CB.  I think the better sides in the Prem would cope with East Preston, not saying they would beat them but would cope better.

I don't think anyone at Knaphill is basing their season on being beaten by East Preston and with the players they have there I think they will not be far off the top come the end of the season.

Always enjoy my visits there and wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Well done to Hanworth Villa on their fine victory over East Grinstead yesterday in the F.A Vase, lets hope South Park can add to our Tally after their Replay on Tuesday night.Chessington ran Eastbourne Utd close 2-3,just wonder what affect the sending off of the enigma that is Jazz Gold(ex Croydon) had on the final Result. My man Mankelow scored a double in Croydons 3-3 draw with Wembley.Sods Law for Colliers Wood win 4-1 against Raynes Park, but low and behold Alton win 3-1 against (Pageless Mole Valley)and Horley win 4-2 against Badshot Lea.Bedfont Sports  looked doomed, after a 4-0 loss to in form Camberley, whilst Ash lose by the odd goal in 5.Div 1 looks tight, but it seems Epsom Athletic have hit a wall of late, whilst the new Management Team at Eversley must be over the moon, with 2 straight victorys. AFC Croydon/unbeaten Spelthorne eaked out a 0-0 draw, whilst Staines Lammas go down 2-3 to Sheerwater, who have lost their Chairman Chris Wye and Assistant Manager/Coach Danny Fox over the past few weeks, after they were doing such a good job there.Nice to see Bedfont and Feltham beat South Kilburn 3-2 puts them right in the mix,not forgetting Knaphill who have games in hand, exciting times ahead.

Krooner there is a very valid reason why we had three at the back yesterday. Injuries. Three of our defenders have serious injuries.

Timmy Taylor has a broken leg and won't be back for a couple of months as yet. Jamie Doble was also on crutches with ligament damage and won't be back until at least Xmas. Ian messenger played yesterday but is doing so with a broken toe.

We're also missing Ross Murray (ankle) while Dan Thorogood has been struggling with a hamstring injury. We out out the best side we had available to us and sadly that means playing some folks (like Ruggs) out of position or playing a different formation.

We need our key defenders back and fast. That certainly didn't help but it's helpful to know why we played the formation we did.

Cheers

To me from a supporters view its some basics mistake from players that are playing at this level for the first time, my personal view is we need one or 2 old ccl heads in the team, but thats my view, but will still be backing the manager 101% every game that Ash play
