Hx 2 Harrow 4

cup of tea

Recommended Posts

Oh dear - the Tuesday night home jinx strikes again.

I'm not going to go on about the officials, all I'm going to say is if these things even itself out then we're due a lot of luck going forward.

Having said that, there seems to be an imbalance in the side at the moment in defence, can't quite work out what it is.

No complaints up front, Stefan and George worked their socks off tonight - when you see your No 9 running back 60 metres to cover the right back position then you know you've got no problems there.

I expect us to be better on Saturday, we will need to be as Kingstonian won't take any prisoners.

Harrow, well organised but nothing special and got the rub of the green tonight. It will be interesting to see the last two goals when the videos come out

Thought we had a poor first half.

The pen was a pen and Ini will know he did wrong. But to be honest he had no choice.

Where was the defense? Three at the back does simply not work.

Oh wait one is suspended...

The second was poor defense on Hornchurch's part.

We did well in the second half to get it back to 2-2.

But why when we pull it back, and this isn't the first time, do we take our foot off, and they get all the chances and possession?

We had a chance to win this game but didn't take it.

I'm not going to comment about their 3rd and 4th, because its not worth it! The list of excuses it just too long!

What i would like to know is why we are told that we have a team capable of winning this league when they cant even put in a performance capable of proving that the league can be won.

Come on lads......you're better than this!!

Kingstonian must be rubbing their hands together with enjoyment for Saturdays game.

I'm certainly not looking forward to it.

Please prove me wrong by 5pm on Saturday!!

Firstly let me state the obvious.....goals change games.

Thought we got off to a decent start, a complete howler from Inigo put us on the back foot and before we could gain our composure we were 2 down. If we had scored 1st I feel it would've been a otally different game.

Fair play to the boys on pulling 2 goals back, but in recent games when we've thrown caution to the wind and made substitutions it had the desired effect, you cannot say it did tonight. I felt it had the reverse effect in leaving us very exposed.

Could I possibly make these points:

I really don't think Dave Rainford has improved our side, much the opposite.

Stefen doesn't look half the player playing with George instead of Rook.

Big big game Saturday now.

a cold tuesday  night  and  not much  came  out of it ..... these  are  the sort of games we have to  win if  we want to  win this league  made  harrow  look  good at times  im not sure  if we had a defence  for most of the game,  we have  not had that  many clean sheets  this  season  and really  need to improve  on it before saturday  otherwise  we could really  be  in trouble  harrow should really  have been out of sight  by half time  with  4 or 5 goals  as they went  close or missed  several  very good chances the  officals  were  poor yet again   but there are other  things to  blame the defeat on for sure

Stefan feeds off rook IMO.

But I feel George can play up with them or give Stefan a free role.

Our offence is our strongest point.

Rainsford is a great player, he has just come into the team and needs time to adapt ,you don't get a reputation like his without being a decent player.

For me he does the simple things well and needs to adapt to his team mates.

There is no problems,we had an off night,5 weeks ago we beat Wealdstone 6-1,let's not pretend we have problems,we lost a game ,it's fine

Well.i didnt see that coming.u would have thought when we got.it back to two all there was only going to be one winner just goes to show.Once we got going we looked really good but to be honest every time Harrow attacked looked like they were going to score.great game for the kingstonian spying party.

To me, Rainsford looks like a quality player and once he gets settled in will be an asset - Elliot is only out for one more game, that will make a difference and did I see that Martin Touhy is in light training - No worries up front, that's for sure.

Rainford is a decent player and he had his best game last night but our team structure and formation is being compromised just so we can accommodate him in the side.

At Lowestoft, the midfield was far too congested - no space for Rainford / May / Curley and no width (not that we used the midfield at all as every ball was just launched forward).  Three at the back against Thamesmead with May pushed forward and a bit of width looked much better though we always looked flakey at the back.

And then last night .. 3 at the back again, buffet defending as Harrow helped themselves time after time .. we should have been 4-0 down by the break.  Credit where credit's due though we pulled one back.  We're warming up a sub and rightly so as we need to chase the game but then we equalise.  We're dominating the game, loads of possession, have all the momentum and rather than sit the sub back down for 10 mins we still make the change.  We change formation, we lose the momentum and we lose the game.
