Jeff Trice
A genuine landmark day for the site - today I uploaded the last of the missing player profiles covering those players that made their Margate debuts from 1996/97 up to 2012/13 inclusive. Also updated every single other existing profile. So a shade over 12 years after starting work on profiles and setting up the website I've now created - from scratch in every case - a total of 1043. That constitutes every single Margate / Thanet United player to have made a competitive appearance for the first team from 1946/47 up to the end of last season. My whole aim originally was to have a page for every post-war player ever so now that's finally done. More work to do such as adding results and manager details from 1996/97 onwards and I'll get onto that soon as well as adding some new quizzes etc.

Jeff Trice
I thought it'd be under "Slightly distrubing" but cheers anyway.

Jeff Trice
Thanks for the kind words - still genuinely surprises me that there's no equivalent site for any localish club. Would have been really handy for me if other Kent clubs had similar sites.
michael
the superb has simply got better. i'm sure Jeff has thought of this, but could you sell the 'template' to other Kent club statto's and indeed club statto/historians around the world ? 10% of the franchise fees to Margate football club of course. 10% of the franchise fee to Jeff's agent-i'll volunteer for that gig Used the site the other night for a quiz question-you sort of feel you should pay a small fee for the information.it will receive an acknowledgement though

Jeff Trice
Thanks for the kind words, don't think I'll be retiring on the proceeds from the site and although the info is good the design isn't that great - not really my strong suit ! - so sadly it's not really something I could offer out for sale. Plus I always feel I could do things better - bit of a perfectionist streak in me I think !
Jeff Trice
For those of you who like such things - in fact it's still there even if you don't ! - I've just added a new quiz to the history site that focuses on the seasons from 2001/02 to 2012/13. Multiple choice so have a go if you like. You can find the new quiz at... http://www.margatefchistory.com/2001-02%20to%202012-13%20quiz%201.shtml ...there's also 12 older quizzes on the site. Jeff Trice
Really pleased to have just added a player memories article to the site thanks to former Margate striker Johnny Ray and his son Peter. You can read it at... http://www.margatefchistory.com/johnnyraymemories.shtml ...and there's several other player memories pages in the Extras menu of the site.
