Dilemma

I have always supported this club through thick and thin.  I live in London and work shifts but when I have Saturdays off I make the trip down to Margate for the home matches.  Living in London also allows me to attend a number of away matches to support the team.  When I arrive at the ground each time I pay my £10.00 and also £2.00 each for two tickets in both the 50/50 draws and the meat raffle, and then theres the usual drinks etc.  I also pay into the Goalden gate and the matchdraw lotteries.  I have travelled down for the John Hollins and Ron Harris nights and spent a good amount on the auctions at both those nights.  However next week we play Chesham in the FA Trophy.  This was always going to be a huge task to beat them looking at the form they have showed this season. However I am really considering whether I will attend the match.  We will have at least 4 players missing next week, and although I can stomach the odd couple of injuries, what really riles me is the fact that apparently those 4 players will be out due to suspensions.  What has happened to the discipline in the team this season?  I think somebody stated the other day that we are heading for the most red cards in a season already, and we have not got to Christmas yet.  Some people may say that I should support the team, but are the team really supporting us?  Perhaps someone could give me a valid reason for attending next week.

Similar scenario for me, although I've family ties on the East Kent coast so easier to build a case for attending games. Got a bumper schedule for Christmas and the New Year in the offing.

My valid reason doesn't extend much beyond the fact that that's football. It's not life or death, it's more important than that.

Always enjoy my time in the ground, with the other supporters and the volunteers. Not always the best football with the best result at the end of the day, but more often than not the community feel of a Saturday afternoon makes up for it.

The banter, the choir, the ability to generate such wild and varied emotions as has been displayed on Facebook (and from at the game so I understand) as a result of the Kingstonian game, make football what it is. Wouldn't change it and why it surpasses all other sports when it comes to fan interaction in my opinion.

Suspensions are part of the game too, whether due to ill-discipline or shoddy refereeing (or a combination) but might allow one or two players a chance to shine/redeem themselves.

Cup games can be great levellers too. I was there for the performance that knocked Kingstonian out of the FA Cup not so long ago, so this squad has the potential, just needs to click.

Looking forward to see you on Saturday Steve because if you don't come I will get an order for you to be sectioned into that hospital over the road from you. ^_^
