V Potters Bar Town 9th November

If I had to choose a fixture for the lads to start another unbeaten run then PBT would be one of my favourites . Newcomers to this league they are not having a good time. They have, like us, been hit by a whole series of injuries that has had them playing several members of their under 18 team recently They haven't had a league win for more than 2 months and their last 6 games resulted in 4 losses and 2 draws Only 2 teams in the league have conceded more goals and only 3 have scored fewer and to top it all their manager resigned at the end of last month I think we should be very confident going into this one although every game requires the same amount of effort and application to get the required result.

Don't agree with you Slough Kitman everything Ive said is totally accurate fact not opinion what we need to learn is that you cant level up We have shed points recently because we came down to a level not because opponents raised theirs imo but of course I respect your right to hold another view

There's Nothing wrong with optimism and facts the league table says it all. If we want to challenge we need to win these kind of games our players know this and the away side will always raise their game against clubs higher in the league to prove a point. No matter what we say it's the on field players on the day who make the difference so lets all do our bit and get behind the team and be vocal come kick off and for the full 90 mins whatever the score. c'mon you rebels :)

Yet another opposition team talk sorted,

We'll never learn.

Though you are totally wrong, it is strange how other people on here say the same as that Hotspur matey yet are not berated or censored . I understand from gossip at the games that a lot of supporters agreed with him and his forthright views but he did not belong to the  forum clique.

Then perhaps those people should show some balls and also contribute their views on here - otherwise who's to know if you're telling the truth?

Well you have summed it up nicely, I am new on here and you are suggesting  already that I am lying just because I mentioned the gossip in my circles agreed with Mr Hotspur . I notice that you did not address the fact that some on here get censored  and others do not and yet they say the same things. Does that not show bias ? And is probably the reason people with or without balls as you put it do not come on here.

Personally I don't think we have scored enough goals in the first 30 minutes of matches...... only 5 of our 27 league goals have been in the first half hour.

With teams in the lower half of the league I think if they keep the score level for 30 minutes they start to grow in confidence.

With a strong bench when players are all fit, I don't see any reason why we can't start matches at a very high tempo, and if players tire after 60 minutes substitute them with very similar quality players from the bench.

The only match I have seen this season where we started at a very high tempo was against Barton Rovers (top of the league at present)..... it seemed to surprise them and we won 4-0 (with two of the goals in the first half hour).

That is something that we have mentioned Mark.... It is not from the want of trying.... We have started fast in games and been on top, but have at times just not converted when on top... And football is all about taking your chances... The earlier that you can put a game to bed the better.

Won 4-3, having been 3-0 down after 30 minutes.

A magnificent comeback (one which shows we do have some fight in us), but one we should never have had to make! We made hard work of a game which shouldn't have been hard work. In the end we showed how much better than Potters Bar we are. Why on earth were we 3-0 down in the first place!

I think this game raises more questions than it answers. I still think we are a long way off competing with the better teams in this league (over 42 games).

We simply can't keep putting up with the team going AWOL for 20/30 minutes or more each game. Today, we gave a poor team a 3-goal head-start (and it could easily have been more). Today we got away with it. The better teams (the teams we are aspiring to be like) will punish us for it!

agreed we shouldn't have found ourselves 3-0 down but between 2-0 and 3-0 we had 3 or 4 huge chances which yet again we didn't put away at a vital time

getting 1 goal back transformed Potters Bar from a team brimming with confidence to 1 that looked terrified. we FINALLY upped the effort levels particularly in center midfield where we were terrible to begin with and started showing what we can do

fair play to their keeper he made 4 or 5 top quality saves that smaller keepers had no chance of stopping

when we finally got back to 3-3 we were under the cosh for 5-10 mins and for a while looked like we would chuck away the hard work but we stepped it up again and Dyer grabbed a superb hattrick.

Smith straight away made our attack look better and Dyer was superb and shows no sign of the illness he had very recently. MOM gotta be Dyer with the goals he got

Shocking first 30 odd mins potters bar looked a decent side and didn't look like a team struggling they were quick and able to attack us the break and reap the rewards. I think our second goal on the stroke of half time was the turning point and fair play to the team for the comeback they could easily have given up but they kept going and it paid off. 3 more points in the bag to help our promotion ambitions well done rebels
