Mark44
Really looking forward to this one. A shame that Ed is still unavailable but with no pressure on the lads and a break from the league I am expecting us to give it a real go and try and play some good football against a decent side. Will any of the voices be going tonight? if they bring any fans as in 2010 could be good under covered end again COYR

Stuntman Mark
I'll be there. Missed the last B&B game so this will be the first time I've seen them play us since 1993 in front of 4500 at Wexham Park and "that" goal by Ian Hazell.

readingrebel
'Wycombe announce strong squad for Slough tie' All the Wycombe players in their squad tonight are first team players. They have either started or been a sub for their first team.

Chris
Good to see Ollie in the squad. Looked like he'd done his hamstring Saturday, so thought he might be out a few weeks.
Neil Baker
He is still a little sore, but not as bad as first feared, so likely only used in an emergency!
Martin
First half thought we put in a really good shift. The game plan was to sit deep, with the extra man in midfield and hopefully use Warren and Wheeler's pace to hit them on the break. To be honest the difference between the pro game and our level showed as they kept the ball for long periods but I thought our work rate was excellent. Best chance for us came when wheeler cut in from the right and went for the cross when he should maybe have had a dig. Second half we were unlucky to concede an og as Lakey reached for one ultimately he could have let go. That undid the game plan as I genuinely think that if we had kept it tight for another twenty minutes the game could have opened up and anything was possible. As it was they scored two excellent goals showing a bit of class. As they eased off we had our best spell in the game but just couldn't grab a goal that I think the effort deserved. It was good to see a decent crowd with an away following but the quick flow of goals knocked the banter on the head. Ultimately this was a pretty low priority and it was good to see Foulser get ninety minutes under his belt - hope there are no ill effects. Back to the bread and butter of he league on Saturday - lets bounce back with 3 points. COYR
Jon Underwood
Martin, not sure I have seen a post on here EVER that I have agreed with 100% until now! Nothing more to add, need to get a win on Saturday.
Don Juan DeMarcus
Agree with both above. Good "friendly" style game with some good play from both teams. Their passing was sharper and as the game went on the fitness of full time professionals showed through. No injuries and some good game time for some of out players. A Rebel and a Saint
Again must agree with Martin, we battled hard but inevitably the massive difference in class and fitness told. We did very well considering there is the best part of 4 leagues between the teams. Must admit when their 3rd went in I was a bit concerned that it was going to become a thrashing but the team kept going. Was good to see Dyer and Foulser get some game time too. We defended very well for the most part, just snatched at the half chances we did create. I did feel we could've got in their faces a bit more to see if we could have unnerved them but other than that we have a good account of ourselves. Lake was unfortunate considering there was no one near him when he scored the own goal but rather that in the b&b cup than the league! Time to get another unbeaten league run going hopefully starting Saturday, COYR! On the banter front, very hard to compete with a group that's got a drummer in, personally at our level of support I think its a bit excessive considering the number of voices, but fair play to their fans for turning up in numbers. Sue
Martin's post's are usually fair and if he does go off on one (not often) it's only because he is so passionate about the club. Thought we done really well last night against professionals, four leagues above us and I expect they had a sleep in the afternoon unlike our guys who probably did a whole day at work, well done to all. P.S Can someone sort me out a security guard against Ryan Lake on Sat please.
the optimist
echo the above .first half pretty even without threatening to much . game died with 2 early 2nd half goals and the 3rd was a cracker .all in all a good game to watch
Stuntman Mark
Not especially bothered about going out of the B&B and the gulf in quality between the two teams was there for all to see last night. I wasn't expecting a win looking at their starting eleven but I have to say I think we showed them a bit too much respect. I know both teams have gone off in very different directions since the nineties but this used to be a pretty fierce derby and I was disappointed that we didn't try and get into them a bit more. As Marcus mentioned, it had the air of a pre-season friendly when I was hoping for something more competitive. However we did very well to keep it to nil nil in the first half and we created a few decent chances ourselves. It was great to see the skipper finally come through 90 minutes in his best position and looking pretty good. As Martin said, had we not gifted them the first goal it might have gone on to be a more interesting game. Spring's goal was an absolute belter. Looking forward to Eddie coming back into the side on Saturday where we desperately need to get 3 points on the board. COYR!
readingrebel
Agree, I thought we did well last night, especially first half where we contained them pretty well and could have took an early lead when their keeper made an excellent save from Wazza's far post header. I thought Adam Foulser was excellent on his return from injury and just hope he came through unscathed as he seemed to be struggling a bit towards the end. Jon Underwood
Foulser just had a bit of cramp which is only to be expected after 10 weeks on the sidelines and coming back in to a tough game like that. I thought he was excellent and it's a real boost to have him and Johnnie back and obviously Eddie too on Saturday. Understand what Stuntman Mark is saying but unfortunately you DO have to show a side like that respect. If we had gone with our usual 4-4-2 and tried to get in their faces they would have played through us in midfield and created a lot more than they did. We simply had to play that way. Who knows what might have happened if we'd have kept it tight for 15/20 mins after half time playing that way and if we hadn't scored the own goal. Personally if I'm honest I think they would have still beaten us but it would have been nice to have kept them at bay and at 0-0 for 60-70 mins until no doubt their fitness would have told. Great learning exercise for our lads and full credit to Wycombe too who treated us with great respect and were a pleasure to play against.
Graham C
No surprise and certainly no disgrace. Most of ours worked hard and the effort put in by Warren Harris was great to see--still think one or two went absent on occasions and wonder sometimes why one of the more talented players has never added tackling to his game. Look forward to three points at the weekend

I don’t disagree with you there Unders and I thought you set up the team in exactly the right way last night. I just thought the lack of aggression was a bit disappointing given that it was a local derby, although admittedly one that probably means more to us Slough fans these days than Wycombe. Maybe my thinking is outmoded but I always think if you can’t outplay a team you try and turn the game into a battle and bring them down to your level. I don’t think anyone even got booked! Looking forward to playing them again when we are on FIFA!
