Eastside Urchin
Why oh why does football at all levels continue to play Saturday afternoon football in the winter at 3pm?? Especially in the months from Mid October to March when the nights close in and it gets dark at half time.Certain leagues (ie wales and very low leagues like eg Essex Olympian which has no lights) kick off by 2pm,surely this is beneficial for all parties. The clubs, because it cuts costs of floodlights ,probably by a couple of grand a season The spectators, plenty of fans get stuck on the roads going to games,an earlier kick off may help fans as especially on the M25,it gets very busy Saturday afternoon from lunchtime onwards. Fans could also go out lunchtime and be back at a decent hour which may mean more can travel to away games Just a thought
Hookey
Good shout. BTW, In the winter months, cup games in the Essex Olympian League KO at 1:30pm to allow for Extra Time and Penalties. We are then back in the bar watching the Pro scores/results coming through on TV.
Zippy
Good call there EU Sadly, it seems that common sense is not a prerequisite in the game these days.
