V Leighton Town

Just to give you a little update and some squad news before Saturday:

Sean Fraser looks like he has tweaked his ankle ligaments, his ankle is very swollen and bruised, and he is walking with the aid of crutches, we expect him to be out for about 4 weeks.

Johnnie Dyer looks to have recovered from his kidney infection, which has seemed to affect his whole body, he was feeling a bit better Tuesday, and he trained at 100% tonight and was back to the JD we know, so will come back into the squad for Saturday (which is a huge boost for us and the squad)

Adam Foulser trained tonight also at 100%, and although he has been in and around the squad in the last few weeks, he has not been 100% comfortable, however after this evening, he managed to get through everything, therefore we will be looking to get him some minutes in the next few games, which will enable him to get back challenging for a place (again another huge boost for us after 10 weeks out).

Blounty has been out with a groin injury also, and we are hoping that he will be back in full training in the next 10 days to 2 weeks, and once Sean is back we will hopefully be full strength, something we have not been able to say once this season.

We have also released Rob Carrick, and we thank him for his short spell at the club, it was always going to be tough for Rob with 4 central midfielders, in Clurgy, George, Ollie and Ben, and with them all back fit, it was the right time for him to go and find a club where he can get regular football.

Therefore the squad for Saturday is as follows:

Jake Somerville, Wes Harrison, Ryan Lake, Adam Foulser, Guy Hollis, Dave Woozley, Darrem Wheeler, Warren Harris, Jamie McClurg, Ollie Burgess, Geroge Short, Ben Edwards, Scott Harris, Johnnie Dyer and Danny Burnell.

Will we ever learn, lets not count our chickens. Aylesbury should have been a decent win..... our opponents these days dont need managers to gear them up, they just need a printer, board and a pin and stick up comments we post on here saying the next result will be easy.

COYR!!!

So who do we think should take any penalties.............! Maybe Ollie ?

Looks like the team have been practicing penalties in training, so in theory they should know who will step up if one is given.

Having said that we all know the real thing is different to just practicing.

What about Darren Wheeler who strikes a lovely ball?

Does anyone know who the Godalming penalty taker was?

Of course it'll only be until Ed Smith gets back.

pretty terrible especially in our opponents half. lost count how many time we clueless flicked or booted the ball into the air. when we had the chance to run at them we didn't. when we were chasing the loose ball we were second to everything. out battled and fought to everything

fair enough we cannot play our best all the time but after all the talk about Tuesday i expected some sign of improvement but if anything we were even worse. can't totally blame the pitch again as we never kept the ball down to see what would happen.

not totally sure if we made a single chance from open play from any good moves. corners and free kicks seemed likely to be the only way we scored and we missed at least 4 unmarked headers of which the furthest out was 8-10 yards and didn't hit the target on any of them.

fair play to Leighton who battled superbly and their captain and keeper played well in defence. even had we held on for a point not totally sure we would have been worthy of it

we go again though and must somehow get good points from the vast majority of our remaining games as we cannot afford to lose too many more games if we are to make the playoffs. some huge performances needed against the higher teams that we are to face soon and most importantly a massive improvement needed throughout the team
