3-2 Hanwell Town v Biggleswade United

 

Biggleswade United deserved at least a point from todays game.

Good result in the end for Crawley yday. Not a good performance though to be truthful. A poor quality game, not helped by the wind or the fact that Langfords pitch is huge. Langford created a fair few chances to be fair but we seemed to deal with them until a mistake left their fwd thru on goal with a gk that couldn't walk to beat.

 

The referee, although actually not that poor, is still up there with the worst refs in the league. He is so arrogant, strutting about, telling players to 'shut up' calling them Dickheads, telling them 'what do you know, I've played at a much higher level than u will ever play' etc Gagging to book people but luckily for us (the players) I don't think there was a bad tackle in the whole game.

You would think not. But what can you do.

 

He clearly has an issue with our club. He was 'abused' by one of the fathers (currently a manager at a club) of a former player of ours in a game vs London Colney. Basically they cained him (the ref) about his dodgy hair cut for the whole game.

Your reserves were certainly not happy about the ref either yesterday.

Really? Heard the gk got sent off early doors. Our rezys have a good record for discipline.

Probably about 10 minutes before half time. He got sent off for foul and abusive following a caution. To be fair to him I have no idea what he got the caution was for.

 

It was 3-0 at that point.

I'm surprised the ref understood him, I pick him up for 1st team games and can't understand a word he says. Polski. Lovely lad out of character for him

Like I said still unsure why he was cautioned as he didn't seem to do anything.

The Pancake Lane ground is tucked away behind houses in a quiet area, there is a note in the programme asking spectators to use the clubs free car park to avoid upsetting neighbours.

A rather basic ground, as you enter the building straight ahead houses everything with an overhang providing shelter. Team line ups on whiteboard next to tea bar. Metal stand on the opposite side with nothing behind either goal. 

Levy are having a torrid time on the pitch having won just one of their opening 17 league and lost the rest conceding 67 goals in the process. Hillingdon were mid table with 20 points from 13 games. 

Lively end to end game, the only suprise was that we were goaless at half time. The hosts took the lead three minutes into the second half, Jose Figura breaking clear to fire iin. Hillingdon equalised in the 55th minute from a penalty following a trip, a slow stuttering run up by Ruben Lourenco before firing low to the left, the keeper got a hand to it but couldn't keep it out, barely a minute later Hillingdon had another strong penalty claim waved away but took the lead five minutes later with an excellent curling shot from the edge of the box and really took control after that, hitting the bar before putting the game beyond doubt with a third goal five minutes from time.

An entertaining game that was played in a good spirit and was well refereed by Lee Jessup. 

Looks like a long hard season ahead for Leverstock Green.
