Chalfont v Slough

Windsor Rebel

Credit to Chalfont. I thought at the back they were well organised, defended well and restricted us from creating chances.

That said I thought we deserved the winner we got despite being far from our best. We never gave up - showing great character and pressed until the end and got our rewards.

Exactly. It was a good battling performance. Not a beautiful performance but most importantly one that ended up with us bagging 3 points. We have a new squad and managers who are coming into decent form (ignoring a 20 min collapse at Aylesbury) I feel there should be a lot more positivity! Both on here and behind the goal. I'm fully aware is wasn't the greatest performance ever seen but a win is a win... Far better to be coming home with 3 points after a drab game than with no points after losing in a 5-4 thriller!

I agree with Marcus on this one, yes it wasn't pretty but we stuck at it and battled to the end and the team deserves credit for that. Great cross from Wheeler to create the goal. I thought Ollie and Warren had decent games unfortunately things just couldn't quite click between the team as a whole which will happen to any team. Chalfont were very organised up until the point they got into the final third where they tended to lose control especially when they attacked with pace.

After a night like that the result is the important thing, and we did get it even if we did have to wait. We are still on a good run so I'm not sure why there is so much moaning on here.

More positivity needed as we move onto Leighton to hopefully keep this run going, COYR!

We are all entitled to our opinions but I think some of us should have a reality check.

It was a competitive local derby played at a frantic pace.

Chalfont defended well and their ultimate aim was to get in our faces and frustrate us which they did very well.

There will be lots of games this season where we will have to battle and grind out a result which was what we did last night.

No team can play flowing football every game, so lets get real.

The main thing is 3 points in the bag.

I thought we thoroughly deserved the win and were by far the most positive side. Although a little hit and miss, many of Wheeler's crosses were threatening and I always thought we looked like creating a chance from them. Warren Harris was again excellent, at times there were three defenders on him such was his skill and close control. Thought Ollie was excellent too.

Chalfont were organised and pressed us but the most important thing for them was to keep a clean sheet. They didn't offer much attacking threat IMO and Jake wasn't really troubled.

It seemed fitting that after time wasting for long periods it was an error by their keeper that lead to the goal and a much deserved one for Warren Harris who was my man of the match.

Had we scored early Chalfont would have been forced to abandon their game plan and come at us and I think we would have had a more comfortable victory.

As it was we battled through and got a deserved three points. COYR

Enjoyed that last night. Love the setup of their ground with the two covered seated ends, very unique at this level of football but a club which is moving in the right direction and building itself properly. Pleased to be able to start a bit of the support and well done to Radders and Marcus for leading a few off as well. Good to see Bakes wave to the support, couldn't resist the banter back then.... Although did notice, Unders didn't get the shout for the wave?

Onto the game, thought Chalfont looked organised and dangerous with their pace on the back which meant Jake had to be alert and out of his box to sweep up. We certainly edged the chances and shifted the ball around well in spells but the final ball or shot weren't quite there. Got a little lucky with the goal but Power-Simpson continued his aerial uncertainty in games against us being caught under the ball. Last season, that was exactly the sort of game we would have lost. Credit to the lads for rolling up their sleeves, going to the end and continuing this unbeaten run. Great to be able to see Jake do the dance live as well!

Not our best performance of the season by any stretch of the imagination but I felt we deserved the points despite a spirited performance from Chalfont. No one deserved to be the hero more than Wazza who battled superbly for the 90. Biggest disappointment of the evening would be the injury to Sean Fraser who apparently could miss a few weeks now.

As I said earlier, Chalfont always turn up against Slough and have beaten us a fair few times over the last few seasons so taking 3 points off them in a game like last night is very important.

Onto Leighton now and another game where we may have to win ugly again!

Quite agree Mark, one thing we can be sure of is that Leightons pitch will be ugly, at least the lads got a good look at it last week.

A pleasing win in the end as I thought we were easily the better side overall. Fair play to Chalfont, they battled well

but did seem to be happy with a 0-0 draw. Thought we would never score last night, so fair play to the lads

for battling on till the end. I dont think we will have it all our on way on Saturday either, as Leighton will out

out to prove a point. MOM: Warren Harris

Leighton haven't won at home yet this season..... that doesn't tell the whole story though, they have had two draws and three defeats, but each defeat has been by one goal. So I would expect it to be similar to the Chalfont game last night.

Another excellent 3 points obtained last night against a Chalfont side that reminded me of the way Italian football use to be ( all defensive )still as its been said 3 points we feel is better then nil points, and not forgetting Chalfont have only lost 7 games this season. We don't care how we win the league be it stylish or lucky ( probably the latter ).Maybe Slough will be one of those teams Mr Bateman put out ie:the higher up the league the teams were-the better we played, and when they played the dross we often or not joined them.

Ha ha yes Mr Thomas I do wish you would stop trying to distract our manager's when they are concentrating,

Whatever anyone says about our side, the one thing that cant be said is that they give up. I think they work really hard and keep battling no matter what.

Also thought we were the better side last night.

Especially that defender that we never ever notice he played extremely well. (no not at all biased) !!
