I'll take this out of another thread as posted by a Hendon fan:

 

"I think you'll find that Anthony Howard has signed for us - made his debut as a sub this afternoon."

 

Presuming of course it is the same one, he made his debut for Hendon coming on after 75 minutes in their 3-0 win over Hitchin yesterday. ( Hendon vs Hitchin Line Up) I think he went there pre-season for trials so it would make sense and with him living round by Dartford I think, it will be slightly easier for him to travel and get to and from Hendon.

 

Heard nothing from the club yesterday, although will try and make some enquiries to confirm if Antony has left the club. But to be honest, can you blame him? He's probably still owed money by Deaner and decided to jump ship before it got too bad? We'll see...

If true, then he was one of our better defenders, if somewhat injury prone.

That truly is terible news. I half expected to join the exodus to Borehamwood and was glad when he was retained. Probably the only defender we've had in recent history with any degree of pace and the ability to adapt to wing-back. Youth, height and potential well on his side, too.

 

He would be a terrible loss, given the threadbare nature of the squad.

 

Will Eddie be able to find an able replacement?

 

Will we start adding to the squad any time before May?

 

We always have Mark Bartley to step up to bat!

He has indeed signed for us and is the one that played for you. I believe forms were signed on Friday.

 

Thoughts on how you think he'll do. Looked comfortable and assured when he came on for the last 15 minutes on Saturday.

decent player but injury prone. Once played in goal for us and was pretty good at it too, so along with McCann you've got two former Slough keepers. Leaves us in the [***!!***] though with our remaining defenders injured. Nice one Ant.

Anybody know what happened about the League on Wednesday, as I gather there was something said about representatives from the League attending the Bromley match, to talk about aspects of Anthony's departure?

 

The source of this was obviously reluctant to say too much....
