margateshot
I see the headlines today on main site is, "Margate are beaten 3 - 0 by title contenders Lewes". Funny, I thought we were title contenders a few weeks ago!

margateshot
Sorry Don but I would have thought that "we were beaten by fellow title contenders", would have been a little better
BlueBoydie
As the old adage goes, the table don't lie. Currently nearer a relegation scrap than title contenders. Only October to be fair so not too concerned about that at the moment, and my pre-season bet was speculative as the odds were good. Still, discipline has to be a concern for someone. Can't keep blaming referees and officials, although I'm sure there are one or two that are unjust. As an example, don't stamp and you won't require the ref to pull a card. Margate Don
Sorry Don but I would have thought that "we were beaten by fellow title contenders", would have been a little better Actually no it wouldn't. Of the teams we've faced this season I'd see Hornchurch, Maidstone, Dulwich and Wealdstone as title contenders and in those games we probably deserved the tag as "fellow title contenders". Won 2, Lost 2, GF 3, GA 4. However, of the other teams we've played, Hampton (W), Harrow (W), Enfield (D), Thamesmead (W), Met Police (W), Leiston (D), Grays (L), ETU (D), Bury (L), Lewes (L), all have looked pretty average and we have looked little better or worse. Won 4, Drawn 3, Lost 3, GF 13, GA 13.

michael
We all see thngs differently, but I thought Lewes were a well organised side ,and deserved the win; though as ever-the result comes down to a lot of what ifs-and that way-it could have been different. I would put thewm down as top 5 definitely I read in NLP that Fellows got mom-have to agree with that-caused a lot of problems-first time I have seen us exposed like that down the flanks-and their finishing was clinical. were does all this title contenders stuff come from anyway-who ever thought that was going to happen this season ? Next maybe-but you don't grow a side in under one season. Need to win the ironmongers cup though starting with a good win on Tuesday, and better still ensure we progress at least three more rounds in the trophy. Just hope we remain in these two cups come next Saturday teatime-the league can wait another 12 months-absolutely no point going up to come straight down again-or go bust in the process

Nobody has asked them to do it in one season Michael, but after last years collapse when we should have been there , this year should see an improvement. A few weeks ago we were flying playing great football and in the top three. We have, what appears to be on paper, a better squad than last season and we are currently 3 places below that, so why not expect an improvement? I know its still early but we need to change soon as we do not want to be in the position we have been in the last seasons, avoiding relegation
