OldTowner
Okay, let's ditch the negativity for a few days and support the CLUB and all the Management and Players on Saturday. Big crowd, Big game. Pressure not just on Town to do well, Maidstone will be "expected" to perform in front of their home fans and from what I have heard they get a bit touchy if things are not going their way. Plenty of positive support, could go a long way to help OUR team. Don't forget, the parking at Maidstone is poor ( see their web site ) and The Supporters are running a Coach ( see Town web site for details ). There are still some spaces. Leaves QEII at 12 sharp. £15 plus a money back payment of £5 if the coach is Full. Great Value. Come on you Towners.
1F in Enfield
Yeah come on towners!! Let's have a few goals at Maidstone.
OldTowner
No reports. No goals info - there was on Club Twitter. 3 - 0 Now in bottom 4 = relegation zone. 15 pld - 3 wins - 3 draws - 12 pts. 36 goals against = 3rd worst in league. -17 goal diff = 3rd worst in league. Not happy reading. Even Leiston ( under new management this week ) win away. 19 of the 20 teams above Town have 1, 2 or 4 games in hand. Not happy reading. Steph
So you weren't there Old Towner. You don't know that we played 65 minutes with ten men after Jordan Lockie was sent off. You don't know that Maidstone were on the back of their players as we went in at half time all square. You don't know that they got their 3rd goal in the 92nd minute. All in all a good performance against the team top of the league playing on an unusual surface which took some getting used to. We will move up the table but what is needed now is not sniping but get behind the team and realise that we have had an awful run of fixtures. The fight back starts here. I see that Grays Athletic lost 3-1 to Wealdstone.

Steve Newing
So were Old Towner and The Viewer at the game today. If not your comments ain't worth a jot . But hey I wouldn't expect anything else. Please share with us your views on how the team played earlier
Steve Newing
Before anyone else comes on here and starts slating the management , players etc . They worked their nuts off , playing with ten men for an hour , keeping Maidstone at bay on their plastic pitch until the hour mark and even had two great chances to equalise against the table toppers when the score was 1-0. First two goals were mistakes by us , final one in the last minute of added time was down to fatigue . The lads were a credit to the club today and were rightly appluaded off by the fans who made the trip. Think before you type
OldTowner
Er, Just a minute Steph ( and Comeon ) .... My note above did not criticise the Management nor the Players nor the Performance. It just stated facts, as per the current league form and position. Suggest you read it again.
Enfield United
Well said comeon, I was'nt their today but reading yours and Steph's postings gives a real albeit brief description of how events folded today The fact the team is giving their all is a credit to the players and the management. Hopefully we'll have as many as our first choices back available for Gray's next Saturday, a game i'm really looking forward too, I know it's points we need but a Trophy win will set us up nicely for Harrow at home on the 9th with brass band and all to go with it. Steve Newing
Old Towner fair enough , but do we need to publicise the not so good reading . I have seen since the debacle at Bognor us compete , give our all , with an injury ravaged squad , in all of the last four matches against Billericay, Lowestoft , Lewes and Maidstone . In my opinion the officials cost us dear v Billericay along with losing three players to injury early in the game. We dug in when Lowestoft bossed the first half lost our keeper , gave away a soft goal but came back for a deserved win. Lewes away on a Tuesday night always gonna be difficult , but no Noel, Gunz , Corey and George McCluskey , we lost because we didn't mark twice at corners , we didn't stop battling however and nearly nicked something late on. Today has been discussed earlier. Not the easiest run of fixtures but in none of the matches have we been embarrassed.
lovely stuff
I think I sit nearly in the middle of this debate...Of course those on here they are either a part of (or very close to the management/playing staff) are going to over-play the positive aspects of each performance. Those supporters who want a change of management are going to be overly negative about each performance..The positives are that the players are still battling to the end in each game and that we can create spells in most games where we cause the opposition problems..The negatives are that just not getting 'embarrassed' whilst losing is not good enough long-term.The management deserve the full rest of the season to show the fans what they can achieve. We as supporters are realistic and most would be happy with a slow and progressive improvement in team strength and quality of play.We know it a medium to long term project to gain promotion from this league. We are not asking or expecting miracles

I've asked elsewhere of those asking for change who we should get in, but they are not providing any names. They want a change when things are going badly, yet they don't want to face facts that we've got a massive injury list and have played 6 of the top 7 sides as things stand (4 of them in the last month), and 5 of those 6 were away from home. We don't have the cash to get in the best players in this league - it's that simple. We've got to improve what we've got, and get in some youngsters this year and next that will make a difference. I'm sure the player budget will rise slowly year by year, then we can start moving up the league - but it's not going to be this year. Some people just expect improvement all the time, forgetting that football is full of ups and downs, even for the world's best teams.

The Crowing Cockerel
Yep, that certainly is! And there is no way Jordan Lockie should've received his marching orders for that tackle. Late, yes, but he made a genuine attempt to get the ball, stayed low and barely touched the Maidstone player.
CD Towner
Maybe not a straight red but as he'd already been yellow carded it's irrespective
Tom S
Maybe not a straight red but as he'd already been yellow carded it's irrespective Not totally academic: his suspension is longer as a result.
