I find it difficult to comprehend during this current financial climate how football clubs, without any weekday and weekend activity, survive on being open 2 evenings and 1 day a week !

The clubs mentioned by Smudge all have a healthy social activity being open 7 days a week (I believe?).  One would assume that some the social profit goes towards and subsidises the football as ONE club, but I do know that at some clubs these are 2 different entities whareas football has to pay for itself which will be a struggle, so one would presume a sugar daddy is on board to solve that issue. So could this be where the importance of reserves and youth policy comes on board to try and generate more income for club ?  Remember without money there is no club !

Personally I think that clubs who have a daily social activity will prgress 'cos as we know money is the be all to survive,

football clubs without this will always struggle to make ends meet and fail to progress.

Its just my opinion, nothing detrimental meant towards any clubs, 'cos I know all the volunteers work their butt off to make ends meet.

no smudge all teams ive played for have had a healthy amount of people in the bar afterwards at games and training its having the right nucleus at a club.

im also pretty sure most clubs get sponsors still aswell as paying spectators aswell as putting on different nights to accumalate money. a sunday side does not run a football club you cant progress your football club around one its the first team that will progress a club by being successful.you have the added bonus of getting grants from the fa being a sucessful club as you progress up the pyrimad.

Sean any side you and Jamie have been at have been successful on and off the pitch.Shall never forget my visit to Lammas's home ground, even though we got thumped 7-1,the Clubhouse was thriving, similar at Bedfont Sports. However very different being a Groundsharing Club,No F.A. Grants,No Revenue from Bar or Food takings,Hirings etc.The money from sponsors is almost non existent surely.

I do believe our original home at Laleham is suffering financially due to us ground sharing at ashford now. Obviously we spend more time at ashford now than Laleham which is a shame
