Westfield 0-1 Badshot Lea

Not happy about the result but cant complain about the performance. We will play far worse and win this season.

Created plenty of chances but failed to work keeper as much as we should. Really good first half from us. Second Badshot Lea were much better than they were first period especially after their goal, they played some nice stuff. Just wasn't our day, I think we rattled the post 4 times. Good luck for the season - nice to see a side well supported with lots of committee members etc

Enjoyed our first visit to Westfield, which was definitely the first match between the two sides. My take on the game was, Westfield totally dominated the 1st half and should have been out of sight but weren't. 2nd half we were much better and had a 15/20 minute spell where we played some decent stuff. Good goal from an excelent move. Agreed, Westfield had a lot of possession but our keeper wasn't worked enough.good luck for the rest of the season as we now have a mini break, no game for two weeks!

Frimley Green 2 Windsor 5 I only watched the 2nd half of this game but apparently the 1st half was very even, not a great difference between the teams in the 2nd half either apart from Windsors very good finishing and Frimleys lack of a natural striker after Stamp was injured and failed to appear after the break, lots of huffing and puffing from the Frimley defence which led to some stupid bookings and a sending off,I have to say Windsor looked decent yesterday and Frimley need to get back to where they were a couple of weeks ago and also need to stop the mouthing off to the officials.

Windsor didn't have a striker either yesterday, ( in both halves) Harris and Jones being suspended and Gould on the bench in the 1st half (recovering from injury) and in goal in the 2nd half after injury to Dennison.

The wingers were excellent and created panic every time they steamed forward but the fact that we scored 5 without a striker presents an interesting issue for Woodham to think about.

Not sure on one of my local sides result (sandhurst) seem to be really struggling of late and like someone said last week seem to be lacking a leader from the sidelines. Still not sure what is going on there but need an influx of players too I think. With things not getting any easier with knaphill and windsor coming up.

Good to see eversley scrapping the result this Saturday from reports of a poor 1st half, still in the mix for promotion with tougher tests coming over the next few weeks.

I agree mate unless Sandhurst sort out a manager soon the horse will have bolted and they will not bounce straight back to the Prem. Division there are lots of managers looking for a job some with good track records can't see what they are waiting for.

I understand from various sources that the chairman is not even entertaining a few for even a conversation whom will bring more than just a management team to the club which is a real shame, club seems be on the downfall massively which is such a shame for a club which could have real promise.

From what little I know about the club it almost seems that the 1st team is not the most important team at the club and that is a recipe for disaster. I have always been told at whatever club I've been at (and theres been a few lol )that the 1st team is the most important followed by the ressies (if there is a reserve team )and then the youth teams and not in any other order.

I call that the Hayden Bird theory, which at this level is a recipe for disaster.A true Football Club if it wants to survive nowadays, has to involve more kids sides, who are allowed to play on the Main pitch on Sundays. The reason being most parents want to watch their young ones play, and support them, home and away, this gives the Club extra revenue not only on match days, but through Birthday,Wedding,Christening,Parties.Reserve and Youth sides are a serious drain on any Clubs Finances at this level, and are very badly supported by relatives and friends before and definitely after a game.Nice to see Hartley had a mascot yesterday, this should be a regular ocurrence, not just for big games, but all games, that youngster will never forget that experience, and maybe will become a Hartley Wintney regular. This level of football has got stale, reason to many old codgers, like myself, are the mainstay of most crowds nowadays,Most watch a game then go home, their choice, but creates no revenue for the Club.A younger breed is needed, with more of a Community spirit.

I agree duncs the first team should be the pinnacle for everyone at the rest of the club to aspire too but it is also the case that a good youth structure, ladies section and community involvement is massively important for the ongoing future of any club. We need to encourage the youth of today but they also need a figure head/first team to aspire too, with first team players leading by example and getting involved with the club at youth level too.

Sandhurst have a good infrastructure already with regards to the ground and a nice area which can involve all of the family as I can take my child there to run of some steam before watching a game, so very disappointing as a local resident that the club is not taking ownership of the running of its first team as it should. I am more inclined to watch eversley who don't have everything in place yet but will I think overtake sandhurst in the near future if they have ambitions to push on in the playing side and infrastructure too.

You are absolutely right Smudge. Regardless of the level of football, youngsters really are the key to the future of the game. We always offer free admission to Under 16s if they are accompanied by adults. Any that arrive on their own pay the princely sum of £1. However, I can't totally agree with the concept of allowing games to be played on the main pitch. We pride ourselves on the playing surface at Stag Meadow and additional use would have an adverse effect on the quality of the playing surface.

Disagree Sean, where does a Club get its revenue from, most 1st Team players only use the Club facilities once maybe twice a week, hardly ever buy a drink/Food when there. What happens on the other 5 days,Sunday sides on the other hand, love a shant post match, which earns the Club money.Clubs should model themselves on Hanworth Villa,South Park,Bedfont and Feltham,Bedfont Sports (all progressive),where Football is not the be all and end all. They will be open for business today, whereas many of the others will not.

They don't let old codgers in Spoons do they?

Me and the Missus never have any trouble getting into the Horsham 'Spoons' when we go down on a shopping trip.

Seems at least 78% of the punters in there of a lunch time are senior citizens !
