You say there are a poor side ------- in the last 6 games they've won 5 and lost 1 scoring 17 goals with 5 against, that to me is not a poor side. Like us looks like they have found there feet to me.

According to their website they have a lot of players injured-so will be a STRONG side AND HARD TO BEAT AS usual !

Also it says one of our managers played 10 games for them, does not say if that was the beginning or ending of his career.

Nice website though.

I think you will find that was Jon at the end of his playing career, after five seasons and 150 appearances for Farnborough in the Conference Premier.

Have to say that was one of the toughest games so far.. Very good result

If they keep hold of the 8, Gladwin, they will cause a lot of teams problems this year and will be in the top third of the table IMO

Totally agree.... and I will be hoping they cause Dunstable some problems this weekend.

Not quite the end of my career! You are spot on with the Farnborough stats Curtis but from there went to Aylesbury for a few months and then on to Staines (3 seasons) and Bracknell (3 seasons). Was only playing in front of 100's at that point though unlike the legendary Hotspur! :D

Not quite the end of his career, he joined after 5 years at Farnborough, playing in the same side as me, as you say in the conference prem as it is now.

He went on to play for Staines, and finished his career at Bracknell, where injury cut short his career.

Too true we never saw crowds of a 100 in those days, in our days that would have been the gatemen and volunteers.Sadly alternate activaties were being invented to tempt the casual fan away.

  • 1 month later...

Very impressed with Marlow first half, in particular their number 8 was possibly the best opposition player I've seen this season.

Looks like Ben Gladwin has signed for Swindon Town (and there was me hoping we might put a cheeky move in for him!). Best of luck to the lad, looked a top player at this level.

Ha ha, there was no way he was going to sign for anyone else in our league, the lad was clearly looking a lot higher up the pyramid.... I might have mentioned to Stuart Hammonds at the NLP what a good player he was, and he proceeded to write an article on him that Sunday ;) .

Great move for him, and hope he pushes on... helps in Mark Cooper that they have a manager who knows the non league game.
