The worst officials I have ever ever seen! They were dangerous! Please don't patronise me with "no officials no game crap", we'd sooner not play!

It makes you consider not entering the competition if they are going to appoint this level of officials!

At least the 2nd half ref had some idea how to cope & control the game in what was some awful conditions both from the sky & the pitch

At 16.00 I sat there wondering if I should risk getting the train to Hoddesdon v Hertford but with games going down like flys around the London area I opted for a safe bet and a bracketed tick to recomplete the league and to see the most friendly club I've come across in Non league football in Badshot Lea. This is the 3rd home ground I've seen them play at in 5 years. I couldn't remember much about my previous visit to Ash when I first started out ground hopping just that mad fan they had who didn't stop shouting all game, thankfully he wasn't in attendance tonight just the 31 harden souls on a wet rain drenched Tuesday evening.
The 1st half was very stop start thanks to the ref who looked like giant haystacks brother. Second half they decided to swap over and one of the linos who looked like victor meldrew took centre stage.
2 quick second half goals saw Badshot win this quite comfortably and it could of been much more if it wasn't for the excellent Farnham keeper who looks like he could step up at least a league or 2. Badshot number 11 who I believe was there player manager also looks to be a much better player than step 5 standard."

Massive result by the knappers this evening beating Dorking in what can only be described as mad conditions. Thunder and lightning, wind and lethal acorns.

 

Ground out a 2-1 win and made club history. Fair to play to Dorking who were total gents and sportsmen throughout both encounters. Good luck to them for the rest of their season. They definitely deserve to stay up and I hope they do.

 

I'm off to dream of East Preston in round two. Can we do it again? Anything can happen

Won't forget last night in a hurry !

 

Went 1 down after 30 seconds - came back into it strongly but missed several chances, then the thunder turned to lightning followed by the biggest downpour I think I've ever witnessed. Our very own mewcenary was in he middle and he kept the players out as long as he could and when he signalled to go in the rain suddenly stopped ! Home side added a second before the break to go into half time two up !

Fair play to our subs who helped fork the pitch at half time Alton changed their shirts at half time but it seemed to have a negative effect !

Prob should have gone 3 down straight away as they missed a great chance, we got one back then it was all one way traffic. Prob should have had 4 or 5 but was clinging on in injury time as Alton poured forward.

Despite their position there are worse teams in the league , I believe they have recently acquired a few Godalming players on loan

Cove v Newhaven,Vase replay was abandoned last night.Does this mean the Tie will be played this coming Saturday 26th October.

Epsom 1-0 Chertsey Town

 

An interesting and entertaining game, almost spoiled by an inept referee who missed two blatant corners for us (two great saves), refused to play advantage, and then disallowed a late Chertsey "equaliser" without telling them! Out of his depth, I'm afraid.

 

I thought we were well worth our win and although we had a couple of scares in the final minutes, I felt we should have been ahead by more by then. The Chertsey keeper was excellent.

 

We made a few changes and rested Kyle Hough, and I am guessing that Chertsey did something similar, but if that is Chertsey's regular first team then they are in trouble and we will all be welcoming them back to the CCL next season. I hope not though as it's nice not having to go there for a while. Talking of which, where were the Chertsey fans and / or Committee? They used to appear in droves a few years back when they were doing well.

 

Technically this was a giant killing, but if the top team in Step 5 beats the bottom team in Step Four at home, it is really a shock?

I'll address the fans issue: From what I wrote in my programme notes the previous week, I did say that I would be giving a run out to many of the fringe players and returning injured players which is probably why they didnt turn up in their usual big numbers.

 

We started only 3 players from the Fa Trophy game on Saturday. I totally rested 5 regular starters and had two others on the bench. We had 2 new players trialing, 2 back from injury, and the rest fringe players. A 1-0 loss to the team 1 place below us in the football pyramid, and having made 8 changes to Saturdays team, I will take. The most important thing for us was giving players minutes on the pitch, having a look at 2 new players, and getting injured players back playing. 

In our current league position, I'm afraid the Surrey Senior Cup Round 1 is last on our agenda!

 

Was impressed with E&E with their direct play into the forward and channels. If they play consistently like that, they will be there at the end of the season. We may even swap places
