Slough v Merthyr

Windsor Rebel

Perhaps George was missing because he heard Jon and Neil call Merthyr a strong side and decided to not turn up?

One of those games, I suppose. We were unbeaten in seven before against "strong" sides, so I'm sure we'll bounce back.

Let's get back to it in the League on Tuesday. Marlow have quite a goal threat in John Bennett so we will have to be on our game.

COYR!

Im disappointed at that result Although unable to play their strongest team Merthyr always seemed to want the result more whereas we played imo as if we thought we deserved the win regardless of the effort and concentration necessary The ref didn't have a great game but did more harm to the opposition than ourselves At least we can now concentrate on the league I see our next opponents Marlow were comfortable winners today against the S&W leaders North Leigh and are probably the most "robust" team in the league(ive seen them play this season)so we must be on top form for this one I was also surprised at the turnout 216 for an FA Trophy tie against good opposition ?

Some good sense from BR.

Very hard, evenly fought game. We IMO were the better team in the first half and Merthyr probably shaded the second.

Game turned with the penalty miss (have to say it was a very poorly taken penalty) if it goes in it's game over but with the penalty miss being so late in the game we had to go gung-ho to avoid a replay and as such got caught on the break.

Well done to Merthyr, now lets get 3 points against an in-form Marlow on Tuesday.

Your obviously entitled to your opinion Irish but I don't agree that Merthyr wanted it more than us. IMO both teams gave 100% effort.

Excuse my ignorance but what do you mean by Marlow are the most 'robust' team in the league.

readingrebel You are quite right It would be strange if we all saw games in the same way.By "robust" I meant very determined very aggressive and very hard tackling clearly selecting individual players for special attention There were only a few yellows in the game I saw and a few chats from the ref but I felt a different ref would have been harsher.

Didn't realise there would be a minutes silence for my dad, that's a such a nice gesture, thank you to everyone. Shame about the result especially to go ahead, miss a penalty and then eventually lose to 9 men but it's gives us more focus on the league now and we can use the league cup and county cup to give the fringe and youth players a chance.

Attendance wasn't helped by only about half a dozen Merthyr supporters bothering to make the journey (at least that was the amount behind the goal).

Thought we played well enough today as a team but individual errors cost us the match. Don't like to lose but it might be a better result than a draw in this instance and I'm more upset about my bet! We've been due a bad ref and boy did we get one today.

Your right Stuntman, any result was better than a replay, even a defeat.

I've certainly seen worse Refs.

He did reasonable first half but when it got heated second half he lost it completely.
