FA Trophy: Town v Lowestoft

Chase Side Towner

Lowestoft have been impressive in their last few matches, and although not bagging the necessary points that their play has deserved, performances have seen a vast improvement to earlier debacles at Canvey and Harlow.

Are you lot at full strength? You had a few 'walking wounded' last week against Billericay and you're squad doesn't exactly have strength in depth (that's not a criticism - just my opinion).

Looking forward to it and make sure there's ample London Pride in the fridge.

Steve's made it clear that any player not 100% fit will not be risked as improving the league position is a priority. The likes of Adam, Corey, Lee Allen, O'Brien, Ewang look borderline from last week and I think Wildy is suspended (5Cards)

Definately an opportunity for an U21 or 2, we'll see.

A win tomorrow will be the result of the season to date,

Agreed the first half was terrible and it seemed a matter of time until Lowestoft scored, our centre halfs being pulled apart time and again, especially Wild. Eventually they  which did score after half time, Imber with a terrible mistake.

The team rallied well and credit to them. The winning goal a fantastic team goal and super finish.

I wouldnt agree we deserved to win but some credit for the comeback. First half, and the majority of the game though was again poor from the town, just lumping hopeful balls up to Liam expecting him to work wonders - where is the passing game of recent years?

Still, i'm looking forward to the draw on Monday!

Not good first half not good at all. Heard Steve got into the lads at half time . Went behind to a soft goal , lost our keeper just after. Lee White went in goal. Scored two very good goals ( team passing ones at that ) . Should have had a stonewall penalty again when there keeper ploughed through the back of Liam. Lost Gunz to injury , how many more are we gonna have out on the sidelines. Came from behind when we probably all feared the worst against Lowestoft who have lost in the play off final 3 seasons on the bounce and also have players who for how far they travel will be on a lot more than ours. Yet still we seem to want to talk about all the negatives. The boys showed as they did last week great spirit and got the reward for digging in when not playing well and coming out on top against the odds . Well done if say

As has been said, poor in the first half, excellent second half. Did Steve give them a bollocking?

The football was very poor at times, but like last week they never stopped trying. Every player worked hard, it's amazing what you can do if everyone runs themselves into the ground. Every player can sleep well tonight. And two excellent goals, who needs Ronaldo when you've got Tyler and Liam?

Ref bottled it when their keeper went through Liam's back. As bad a decision as you'll see anywhere.

To the team, well done, let's keep this effort going and see where it takes you.

Totally agree with the positive comments and can't even be bothered to get annoyed with those of the 'glass half empty' persuasion.

Well done everyone in the team and management. Other teams might have folded after losing their goalkeeper but we kept on keeping on and were rewarded in the end. The sort of spirit that we showed last week and in the second half today can really be the basis of a fightback in the league and - dare I say it? - I'm even beginning to think we might get something on Tuesday night.

Anyway, I walked away from the Dome today with more of a spring in my step than I have done for ages. I asked you to make me proud today and you did. Well done to everyone again, with a special mention for Lee White!

That result should should be applauded all weekend, with bad luck going to greater depths firstly with Noel's howler, then his injury when a goal down, everyone expecting the worse with Lee White going in goal and what happens? Character and guts shone through our boys who showed a willingness to dig out the result, not to mention the quality of both our goals.

Now to be honest I did'nt expect us to get a positive result yesterday, less so after Noel went off but we were treated to a spirited battle which sent us home proud of our team.

I'll be totally honest again and say I'd be happy if we come away with a point from our away games at Lewes and Maidstone this week simply because of the injury list we have piling up otherwise I'd say a fully fit squad would be a match for any team in this division.

Everyone's talking about Noel's 'howler', but he was clearly hampered by the first-half injury right from the kick off in the second half and it must have played at least a part in the error.

No-one who was at Canvey last year would have been surprised by Lee White's competent performance. And that makes it twice that Chalky has come out ahead of Ashlee Jones.

A poor first half when we "could" have been 3 down.

BUT

From a goal down and White taking over in goal the team seemed inspired.

Two GREAT goals of fast accurate passing and super finishing gave us a super 2 goals and a 2 - 1 win.

Obvious comment maybe...but if the squad could show that commitment, desire and pulling together "most weeks" we would be in the top half of the League.

Attitude and application.

Well done Town and now lets hope for a decent Home draw from the hat on Monday.

Always interesting to read the other teams view on the game and just a pity they got the wrong player taking over the gloves.

Funny to see them complaining about lumping the ball forward in the air instead of playing it on the ground, sounds familiar ;) .

"The home fans vocally shouted for a penalty as a long free kick forward saw Jones fail to get the ball but seemingly connect with Hope. However, with there being no serious shouts or complaints coming from the Enfield players, it appeared to support that the referees decision not to award a spot kick was probably correct."

It was the most blatant penalty you are likely to see! Any video footage of the game anywhere?
