Geggy
I know this is a non Slough Town post, but hopefully you'll appreciate it's for a good cause! For those of you not travelling to your away game at Leighton Town on the 2nd November, we'd be delighted to welcome you to our Combined Counties Premier League game against Ash United which will be 'Help for Heroes Day' at Stag Meadow. Spectators will be treated to an afternoon, full of entertainment, as the club aims to raise funds for the ‘Help for Heroes charity,’ which supports service men and women wounded in conflicts around the world. To encourage people within the town to come along to Stag Meadow, we are making the game a 'free to enter match'. Kevin Stott our Founding Director comments; ‘The ‘Help for Heroes’ charity does a brilliant job for servicemen and women wounded or disabled in many conflict situations around the world and as a club we feel it's important to help raise both awareness and funds for this charity, not least because the military plays such an on-going part in Windsor’s community and within the town’s history. We hope as many people as possible will come along; fill the terraces; have a great day and help us make a brilliant contribution to the charity!’ Activities on the day will include an opportunity for spectators to view armoured vehicles, courtesy of Windsor-based regiment the Coldstream Guards, who will also be bringing along an inflatable firing range amongst other attractions! Chris Brown, the Royal Borough's official Town Crier will also be present to welcome the two teams. Gates will open at 1.00pm with additional details of the day’s events to be released shortly as they are confirmed. Don Juan DeMarcus
Sounds great! Good luck with it for a very worthy cause. I'll be at Leighton hoping they have the same full backs as last time... "We made you cry... We made you cry"
