dannyriding
right Im p%$ed off at the result so rather than waiting 24 hrs to post I thought Id get it off my chest now.... Mr Ademeno - I helped to pay for your signing on fee cos I thought you looked quality pre-season..... got that wrong didnt I Mr Walsh - your qualities are better suited to being a central defender - striker you aint fella Mr Whitely - the way you take on and go round defenders you could and should be able to walk the ball in the net... however please learn to shoot/ cross it would IMO make you a better player. Mr Avery - is it just me or do you have a problem with authority, knuckle down and keep your opinions away from the officials - it costs us/you cards Mr Sammoutis - keep doing what your doing Mr Cox - please dont keep getting too far forward that you cant do the job your paid for.... you know defending.... Mr ,gianollis - NEW GUY FROM GREECE - looking quality so cant comment Mr Craddock - stand up to their lunges/slides - if they take you out we will get a free kick/foul, dont just stand out of the way and let them go forward Mr Dolby - got the better of you opponent today - but went missing for their second goal.... Mr Bodkin - you are our most influencial player - but you cant do everything - let the other team members have the ball occasionally I have missed a few players out only because they are suspended or their contribution to the team effort was minimal...... harsh - yes ......... will it help posting this... nope but after todays little display - I dont care
Bluesfan
Mr Holloway - stick to being the brilliant goalkeeper you are and let someone else manage??
vic pain lives!
When Walsh cleanly nodded the ball goalwards from the corner last week leading to the winning goal then unluckily crashed 2 headers against the bar i bet the wealdstone centre half wished he was playing centre half too!!! SERVICE SERVICE SERVICE Have to say a good striker/striker duo have to have a desire and want to be in the right place, not an easy technique to teach and an even harder quality to adopt .... IMO walsh is neither in the right place nor is he looking to get to that place where he can nod the ball home... just my opinion but always gives 110% just not always there when he needs to be
DomBlueBoy
Not seen every game this season but have been to a few including today, some observations; Keeper - Holloway maybe should stick to being a keeper not manager as well? I personally don't like the managerial set up at present. A manager should be a manager Defence - Beales and Dolby are good players. Both certains for the team sheet. Cox at right back has lots of energy and probably deserves a mention as one of our better players, although today was not great. Avery fairly solid at centre back but is quite limited as a player. I felt was lucky to get away with the kicking/studding of a player today. At least I think it was Avery.! Midfield - Bodkin always seems to be our most dangerous player - should be on the ball more, as much as number 7 - whitely?. Speaking of number 7 - have never seen a player do the first bit so well - is quick, beats a man but then has no crossing ability at all . A lot of the ball goes down his wing, but his crosses are always so poor. Would suggest If Bodkin saw as much as the ball in the same positions, he could deliver as better final ball. Centre midfield pretty much non existent today, although number 6 the goalscorer showed some good, tidy touches. Maybe missed the dreadlocked guy who gets stuck in to play alongside him. Also felt the new Greek player looked a good player when he came on. Strikers - clearly the place we need help !!! Walsh wins so many headers and flicks it on - the problem is there never seemed to be a margate player around him to collect the flick ons!! However with the ball at his feets, he looks a bit slow, awkward and heavy footed. Not a goalscorer but works hard and Definately tries his best. His partner upfront , Adameno? Only seen him 3 times(I think) - not been impressed at all yet. Obviously feels himself better than the rest of the team and therefore doesn't seem to want to work hard for the team. Also looks a bit slow and unfit. Interesting different "kick off" strategies today - Bury take it, play some good football, pass the ball and score a goal !! Margate restart with their kick off ..... And hoof the ball as far up the pitch in the corner as they can! The odd occasion that Margate actually played some football and passed the ball , it actually looked good ! Why resort to the long hoofs forward so often ? Changes/improvements - need at least one but probably two new strikers who will score goals - the two today weren't up to it. Although the sub who came on upfront looked lively. A right winger who can cross a ball would be good. Either Holloway stops playing and is a manager or continues playing and get a new manager . Maybe Osborne on his own ?
vic pain lives!
So your saying whitely and bodkin put in decent crosses today? Most of whitelys went out for goalkicks. last week better crosses led me to overhear at halftime two wealdstone supporters saying our number nine was unplayable. michael
For a team playing at ryman premier level-the way you have described the players seems pretty good to me. Can't realistically expect much more from them, or they would not be playing at this level ! I have not seen Fakinos or sammoutis, but if they play as you describe-augers well imo. AGREE THAT CENRAL MIDFIELD IN VITAL-SO IS a central midfield of kinch, sammoutis and fakinos looking pretty strong ? You miss out comments on the goalkeeper-imo-Holloway as a goalie probably best shot stopper in league. On crosses-a bit weak-wish he would come for crosses a bit more-even punching out, which would take a bit of extra pressure off defenders, bt if he was equallygood in all aspects-again he would be playing at a much higher level. Seems to me that CH and SO are assembling a good squad with the essential ingredient of youth and experience.
upthegate
I dont think it was a lack of effort yesterday as most of the team put in a good shift. It was just painfully evident that quality wise the team are way short. Both of Burys goals were down to our defence, not awake and ready for the first one and another mix up for the second. Whitely had so much of the ball it must have been a dream for him, but he's so predictable and most times his delivery was poor. Yes Walsh wins a lot of headers but nobodys there for the second ball when he heads it on. Midfield did ok but still need a strong ball winning leader. Discipline better apart from Avery who kicked out once. Don't agree with comments about manager, not a good time to change things round, CH still doing ok as keeper. Wish Osborn would be more vocal on touchline, never hear much encouragement or otherwise.
Always Gate
Thought Bodkin was a bit in and out today, his position is on the right. Also Avery sloppy a few times. But saying that it was the same team that won last week
Gerald Threegoals
I thought we played well at times today and were definitely the better side. I wasn't impressed with Bury - a team of cry-babies and moaners. Obviously what let us down were the usual defensive mistakes leading to soft goals, and the inability to score. Ademeno needs to sharpen up and work better with his team mates, but he looks like he has the potential. The new boy (Fakinos) showed some class and looks like he might work well with Bodders - lets hope so. One thing that has been a consistent feature of the season - the diabolical standard of refereeing. Sammoutis' booking was a shocking injustice, the ref was miles away and made his decision on the recation of the Bury players, as is so often the case. I agree that the managerial situation isn't ideal, but I thought yesterday's football was encouraging if we can improve on the important matters of preventing and scoring goals. Others have dealt with the team but I thought this was the best ref I have seen this year he let the game flow and just had a word with captains to cool things down, only mistake was the error of Sammoutis booking which stood out like a sore thumb in an otherwise a very professional performance. Can we have him every week.? It was the bench that shouted for it ,the keeper did not make a great fuss as it was a fair 50/50/ ball outside the box, others would have rolled around in agony so fair play to him. dflman
I seem to recall that Bury played like that last year. Every tackle that they lost they gave a big yell as if they had been fouled in an attempt to sway the officials and it worked quite often. Thing is that you cannot win anything doing that all season. Lowestoft were the same so maybe it's how they roll in East Anglia ? That bodes well for Wroxham on Saturday !

I agree that we need a strong ball winning leader-haven't we got one though-Kinch is surely exactly that if he'll grace us with his presence and go a game or two without getting booked or sent off. would be nicer stil/luxury maybel to have two such ball winners in midfield though. easy from afar when you don't directly witness the pain of a defeat; but always going to lose games ,and seems to me ,slow steady improvement is being made overall-please ,please please win next week though-. It was never going to happen in a big way this season, but if as above, there is slow ,steady improvement and KP has the patience to stand by SOHO,then I can see them making a real go of top 5 in 2014/15 and i'm happy to wait
Chris1
I disagree with the criticism of Ademeno. Thought he tried hard and was unselfish. Also note this was the same team that achieved a good away win a week before, so let's not condemn them on the strength of one game.
marksandwell
I know it's very very hard for all of us to not see us pick up 3 points and a descent performance especially at home. I couldn't talk to anyone after the whistle, indeed hated everyone and everything. But there we have it, again a performance that didn't do the players justice, some will argue wrong positions for wrong players, others will say lack of tactics, others will say bad day at the office. I also know that Dannyriding will calm down before next match, and he speaks with passion and love for the club. I think i'll have to join the camp of lets get behind the lads and turn Saturday into a good trip to Carrot Crunching land. Up the Gate

Up the Gate A damning post by myself and I am sorry for posting so early after the game. Reading back on the post in the cold (sober) light of day I was a little harsh on the positions that the manager(s) play the boys in blue, and yes Mark I was speaking with love for the club and will/have calmed down by the next game. Like most on here - we think we know better, but likelihood is we only know a fraction of what is needed ...... On a plus note our Greek/Cypriot pairing could be something to scare other teams if they are given time to gel
