Maidenhead-what's the point.

There will be plenty of tough games ahead and regardless of what people think about us, we believe we can get promotion.

What annoyed us most was the management contradicting what we considered good information for them and the team-which proved to be correct.Still has it has been proven on here many times people can't be told or don't listen.

There was more excitement in the motorway café than at the game.Must not use injuries as an excuse not to field best team( surely that is why we have a squad of 18 )wasn't it Cloughie who said when the team is winning the treatment table becomes redundant? The other thing that amazes me is all this talk of a lesser budget-what happened to all those thousands from last years cup run?I agree with some of the above posts we seem more likely to be fighting relegation than promotion!

Absolute rubbish defending, maybe there is still time to get some decent players in before its to late.

When they signed on they were given a wonderful profile, not sure why but they ain't living up to it.

So that is two defeats by average teams and a win against an appalling Kettering, speaks volumes me thinks.

Hmmmm which is it to be Hotspur... Promotion or relegation?? for someone that is so sure of his/their views (and who prides himself on always being right) on who is decent and who is poor, you seem very confused from your above comments about the team you support (after Maidenhead, Beaconsfield and Cirencester)

Almost seems like you are hedging you bets.

I swear people on here do not read the mail properly-nowhere do we say we support those teams you mentioned, at the time of the games being played those comments from us were valid-unlike yours when you stated Kettering were a strong side after us informing you they were not-then you go on to say every team we have played so far were a strong side-there either has to be a motive for saying that or maybe you are not as clued up as you like to think.

As a life long Slough fan of course we want promotion-what is the point of playing if you don't have aims to progress up the leagues.Maybe the truth hurts now and again but its all done as we see the game as its played.Dont forget you have been at the game for a much shorter time than I !!

Believe what you want Hotspur....

Shock you have ignored my post... And not saying you support those sides, they were the games that I have taken your quotes from.

What I am showing you by your posts, is that maybe just maybe you don't quite know as much as you think you do, you say we think we can get promotion, however 5 weeks ago you were saying the players are not up to it, and that we are more likely relegation that promotion.... Which one is it, as the players have not changed...

Possibly just possibly you might have got it wrong....

I am not saying we are a finished article or anything, just you keep bleating on about one thing I have said about Kettering, and a few comments about other sides, that I thought I would show that people do get things wrong from time to time...

You have this thing about Kettering, well I had not seen them, I was going on what I was told by someone that I respect in the game, who is managing at a higher level than me.... Why would I listen to ANYTHING from you?? You are not a real person until you prove otherwise, which you will never do.

By the way all my comments are more valid than anything you say..... Why ??? Because I am the joint manager!! And that is the last I will say on it...

Yes you may well be an old relic Hotspur but Jon and Neil are the managers something you've not done (or no doubts will claim to have done now I've said that!). Do you actually know what the words support and encouragement mean? I've never known a 'supporter' like you from my very limited 30 years supporting the club. As you're oh so knowledgable and always seem to make the right decisions why not apply to be a manager somewhere and show us all how good you really are? You could even employ your grandsons as coach and tea lady!

Hello do we have a yet another naysayer in our midst a fan with a wealth of experience-I don't like to mention betting because as proven before folk don't pay up-but I am willing to bet you anything you want my senior medal collection is bigger than yours or anyone else on here for that matter/

As for the final word by our illustrious manager-we read some where that they were not coming on here-maybe could concentrate on the football team instead.

Pretty sure Bakes asked a simple question. And for someone so sure of their opinions and football knowledge it seems strange that you're avoiding it.

In sept you said we'd be more likely fighting relegation than promotion.

This week you said you think we can get promotion. Maybe you've watched the last 6 games and actually rate the side now?

So why don't you tell us? Which is it to be old chap?

I think we all have to be honest now and ask ourselves if this forum is doing more bad than good? I think personally, that it's time to knock it on the head and let the managers get on with doing their jobs.

Surprised at your comment,Barry,as I don't consider you a shrinking violet.

I don't believe the forum should close at all.

Just because Hotspur has got a few riled with his strange rhetoric and is becoming a bad joke, doesn't mean that the forum has to cease.

Some people seem to be looking for a scapegoat to blame and to bring about the forum demise.

Perhaps the anti-forumites are sponsoring Hotspur !  lol !

I don't support any closing of the forum, it does get annoying when the likes of Hotspot and Old Man Ramrod appear therein, but they've a right to post just like anyone else.

Personally I'd never comment on tactics, players or the managers because that's the way I am. If they play for or manage the Rebels that's good enough for me. Whenever there's a post from either of our favourite Trolls I read it, ignore it and move on.That's what we should all do including our excellent joint managers.

Agree 100% with Bernie, he should be ignored and that is what we've been doing since we stepped back a bit from the forum about a month ago. However I think that sometimes people like him need to be confronted and that is all we did yesterday. He will not answer the question we put to him as he has nothing to come back with, hence the silence. He is not a Slough fan (well certainly not one with the club's best interests at heart) and in football terms is a "nobody", despite what he may think/say, so his posts are basically irrelevant.

My preference would be that every single poster on here ignored every post he put up. Then maybe he would get bored and disappear and we could all enjoy some sensible debate on here by people who actually go to the matches and are therefore entitled to their opinions, whether we agree with them or not.

Myself and Bakes are 100% focused on keeping our good run going and this little forum 'battle' does not detract from that in any way. Although we still think it's best not to come on here to discuss performances, etc (that is for the fans to do) we will continue to provide as much info as possible by way of injury updates, squad news, etc.

Hopefully we'll see some of you over at Chertsey tonight.
