Thanks ColdEnd for your great work again. However, using your own video as evidence I'm going to have to disagree with your comment regarding the Adam incident I'm afraid!

But first the Joe incident. Was it a penalty (and therefore a red?) No and no. Watching the incident frame by frame, you can see that this is what happens: Joe gets the ball cleanly with his right foot. As the ball goes away from their number 11 he slows down slightly. Joe’s right leg is still low and horizontal to the ground at this point, but not touching it. Because the number 11’s slowed down, his right foot goes underneath Joe’s right leg (Joe’s still sliding forward faster than the 11 is moving). As the 11 raises his foot while running it pushes Joe’s leg up, which catches the 11’s left leg. So Joe doesn’t ‘raise’ his leg: it’s actually pushed up by the player he’s supposed to have fouled! It’s taken a while to explain this, but it’s perfectly clear on the video.

Next, the Adam incident. Penalty? Yes. A frame by frame viewing shows that their player didn’t touch the ball.

As I mentioned in my earlier post, we just didn't get the rub of the green yesterday.

What can I say other than my honest opinion.

My view of the refereeing is that decisions are given on what is seen. In Joe Stevens challenge the Assistant Ref convinced the match Ref that their was a foul, he saw something which was not their, which did'nt happen, so where has that decision come from? The Ref showed incompetence in not assessing the situation as well i.e the player was not running directly onto goal and was actually at an angle so not a clear goalscoring opportunity as in the laws of the game, so where did the Ref get his view it was a red card offence. I'm only stating facts. The Ref did a cardinal sin and that HE effected the result of the game along with his 'team', I've looked at the Adam challenge again and the 'Ricay defender makes contact with Adam whilst jumping in across him, anywhere else on the field it'd be a free kick. Example would be the Foul given against Adam For Liam's Free Kich which hit the crossbar is a much softer award, he bottled it in my view. Anyway, we are having a lot of bad luck at the moment which will change for some team wil be on the receiving end of.

Agree with EU abaout the bad luck, but it's also the case that we may have created our own bad luck on at least one occasion. In my original post (written before I'd seen the video) I wrote: "Liam almost scored another great free kick (if only the foul had been a foot or two further away from goal)". Having seen the video it's clear that Adam was fouled just outside the penalty arc, but Liam took the kick from about half-way inside the arc (where Adam ended up). If the kick had been taken from where it should have been (was it the ref who insisted it be placed there or did we try to nick a few extra feet?) it would have meant the ball had more time to continue its dip and may well have gone in off the bar instead of ricocheting off it.

It's a grey area.

20 years ago that's not a pen , not a card, but he tackles , gets the ball and gets the player.

Stupid laws of the game protecting the striker says penalty but it shouldn't be IMO

Great tackles but one blatter and his cronies are trying to outlaw in the game.

Players like bobby Moore, tony Adams, mark lawrenson, beckanbaur would be sent off every week nowadays ,joke

Interesting split about the decisions on here. Here's my tuppence worth for what it's worth. Whilst dissecting a tackle frame by frame in ultra slow motion may convince people that it was a bad decision it's an unrealistic tool to use as the person that matters doesn't get the benefit of the same minute scrunity of the decision. For me as an Asst/Ref having seen that incident i would have given a pen too(had the ref not been giving it). The only thing he got wrong there was for me it's only a second yellow and not a DOGSO although it amounts to the same thing. Re Gunz, i was side on to this at the time it happened and it wasn't a penalty if anything it would've gone the other way as Gunz actually clipped the heels of the defender who'd got in front of him. It would be interesting to see the comments made had the 2 incidents been reversed (ie BT #3 not penalised for that tackle at all) (A penalty given against us for the 2nd incident). Like i said these are purely my opinions and nothing else. Let's move on and concentrate on getting behind the team and getting some points on the board.

I have just spent at least 30 minutes going over a decision during this evening's England game, frame by frame. The referee made an instant decision. I took my time. After looking at the body language of all, seeing who was moving where, and in which direction, I am glad to say that we both came to the same conclusion. The coin came down heads after it was flipped into the air!

Hi Andy. I've just spent at least 30 seconds looking at your 'humorous' message, word by word. I've come to an instant decision: you don't get it, do you? The point is, and the main point is, that we were unlucky on Saturday. We should have won because of the effort that the team and management put in. I for one really appreciate that. Clearly, you don't.
