ETFC 1 Romford 2

It's the problem we face with being the one club everyone in the league particularly wants to beat - the Romford players weren't as bad as the Basildon lot though.

It must have been a strange game - neither Brads Quinn nor Brotherton were booked!

There is no point continually complaining about the pitch. Whichever league we are playing in next season we need to have a better pitch to play on. Surely now it is fenced-off we can look at getting the surface better over the summer for next season. It has to be a priority, afterall, we're the team which has to use it the most and probably the team that can cope with it the least!

I think we need a new specialist left-back - any chance someone can pick one up in the sales after christmas? I agree that 4-4-2 is the way to go.

I'll admit that last wek's pitch was brilliant compared to yesterday's. However, how many times did we give the ball away? How many times were we caught in possession? How many times were we on the back foot?

We have to admit that we were beaten by the better side on the day.

PS. The pitch will not get any better with the amount of use it gets and we will have to live with that fact.

I agree with Steph, 3 in the middle doesn't work.

we need someone who can put there foot on the ball and play the simple pass in midfield (when will Jason be back?)

As for Disco, was he fit,he has been injured or did he just give up on the idea of tracking back?

I didn't see any loutish behaviour, as Junior went off to the bar with her pals !

Just got on line and some interesting comments. As far as the game went we were not up for it and romford employed a very good game plan. their defense was excellent and soutport is right. Their keeper only had a couple of saves to make and there were not the most difficult either. On the break they were always dangerous.

As far as the loutish behaviour comments. I see no problem with the scoring team celebrating their goals. They went to thei own fans rather than gesticulating at ours and to beat the reigning champions away is a very good result. Romford's fans were a credit as well. My only critisism is of the Romford keeper. At the final whistle he turned to the Town fans and really id all he good to wind them up. It was unnecessary and unsportsmanlike.

Other than that, no complaints. The best team won and in a peverse way, it's good to see that the title race is even wider open. Romford had a bad start to the season but they will be there or thereabouts at the end so we now have not just four teams vying at the top but six as Sawbo are also doing well. In three seasons, I don't think the ESL has ever been stronger.

I agree that 3 in the middle doesn't work. That's why I said we should switch from 5-3-2 to 4-4-2.

I wouldn't say the behaviour was loutish but they certainly celebrated their goals to the full. If they were as motivated for all their games, no doubt their results would have been more favourable.

At the end of the game everyone from the Enfield Town committee was very generous in their defeat, no comment was made about "loutish behaviour". I must say i take exception to that. I have been to football where there is loutish behaviour, and all we did was celebrate. had you equalised or snatched a winner a minute from the end would your players not celebrated. Unlike you we cannot get promoted, so have to take victories when we can. Beating Enfield is one of our highlights. Be pleased, it says as much about you as it does us!

As I have already stated, celebrating a goal and a win is fine. I just think your keeper's reaction was OTT as he directed his celebration at Town fans. It was unsporting behaviour and, in my view, it let your team, supporters and club down.

Well done on a well worked victory. Your team tactics were very good. Credit to your manager there.
