Kettering were partially successful in their appeal today although the winding up order is still in place they have agreed to pay the petitioning creditor by 4th November If they do then they should be back in business. In court in Birmingham Calor Premier team Hinckley United were wound up.

I have mixed feelings on this. Yes I feel desperately sorry for the fans that pay their hard earned cash and their emotional support. But when a club that deliberately renades on a financial deal that was agreed with two parties and then has to rely on the support of other fans outside of their club to survive then I think that is wrong. When you enter into a contract you have to agree to that, if you negotiate during that period to reduce payments and it is agreeable to both parties that is fine, but to blatently refuse to pay the agreed money because you don't want to, then you should be wound up. They should be severely punished for this in my eyes otherwise it makes a mockery of the law. Spare a thought for Hinckley United who did not have such a good PR machine to help them.

Have to pull you up on that one Jez, as by all accounts an amount had been agreed by the 2 parties, however the guy who was trying to wind them up, upped that figure the day of the winding up order... from 50k to 70k... that was where the 20k from just giving site came in... They had the 50k all along.

In all honesty the guy who has taken them over, had nothing to do with the previous regime, and all I can see is that he is trying to do the right things, so would be harsh on them going out of business IMO.
