I happened to be at this game last night. Didn't realise the rivalry between these two sides was so big until Ampthill celebrated like it was the cup final when their two goals went in. Very strange. A useful 3 points but not season defining, surely?

I agree with Monkey too, first 20 mins Ampthill sucker punched St Mags and got their goals. The remaining 70 minutes were a complete bore and not representative of the £7 I paid to get in.

Having said that, best sausage roll and cup of coffee I've had all year.

This is what makes our non-league game so great ........ look forward to your future reviews of the humble sausage rolls at other venues Jonno  :P

Mate, there is a bit of history from the first game of the season when their unsavory tactics cost us dearly, i was watching their skipper last night and he was up to it all over again. Then the number 9 tried to make out our full back spat at him, if anyone knows our fullback they will know this was utter nonsense, this is why so many of our playersa were angry about it, at least he got booked for it. Anyway as Karen says a bit of rivalry makes local football so great, but i'm afraid cheating is not good for the game. It may seem the celebrations were OTT but as i said a little history, if you think our celebrations were OTT you should have seen theirs at our place, our changing rooms were nearly wrecked. Onwards and upwards.

hahaha

Nothing wrong with a bit of rivalry....don't have to go into detail why...another reason why football is so good.

Like I said good luck for the rest of the season.....really hope we meet you in a cup for a winner takes all.
