Not sure, Chris.

Only found out from the League Bulletins Alan sent out this week.  I've been tied up for the last couple of weeks with G-D's wedding.

I noticed yesterday the Pitchero site still shows our Farleigh Rovers game listed to go ahead this Saturday.

Dorking's pitch is not ready to resume football.  The problem with the goalposts has been resolved by removing soil and re-turfing but it needs time to grow and become playable, hopefully in time for their FA Vase match on 19 October.

One option was to switch this Saturday's match to their opponent's ground, Farleigh Rovers, but Farleigh were not keen to do so and given, the "slack" we have in Division One fixtures this season, I was happy to accept their decision.

Many thanks for that, Alan  -  You beat me too it.  I did have a long chat with one of our grounds-people yesterday afternoon.

Not sure I agree with your terms 'SLACK' and 'DIVISION 1' in the same sentence, Alan !

How exactly did that conversation go then Big JR??

Big JR: Have the goal heights been rectified yet?

Grounds person: Yes.

Big JR: Can we use the pitch this weekend then?

Grounds person: No.

Big JR: Why not?

Grounds person: Because the turf needs time.

Big JR: When will it be ready?

Grounds person: Don't know.

Big JR: Thanks.

What a crazy situation this is for Dorking!! Embarrassing for the club and the league (much like their performances this season). Should be deducted points in my opinion. Hopefully they'll be relegated to an intermediate league where they belong.

Obviously Alans word SLACK referred to your bike chain, Chubby-Lad.

Suggest you tighten the said article before you get on it !!

Relegated to where they belong ? Based on what pearl of wisdom ? Still in the Vase , unlike several CCL Premier and Division 1 teams , maybe surprisingly so but still in there unlike in previous seasons , now off the bottom of the league by the skin of their teeth but off the bottom nonetheless. So why ? A ground issue ? Because are you really of the opinion that any team that has a ground issue should be relegated ??? Do you struggle to think beyond Dorking for teams that have had problems in the very recent past , and those that have had their fair share of criticism , deserved or otherwise. Colliers Woods issues , Chessington & Hooks , Coves , all the ground sharers , all those that couldn't be promoted. Look forward to a response that has even a degree of credibility , bot won't hold my breath.

I try to keep out of mass-debates these days, but Chubby nasty as ever Brown you should be ashamed.

You've obviously got an issue with John (possibly because he's somebody that I respect and get along with) or Dorking FC - I ask you that IF the problems Dorking are having were happening at your club would you be saying the same things?  Somehow I think not.

At least they are sorting the problems out - what else can they do?  Get Sooty down with his magic wand to go 'izzy wizzy let's get busy?'

At a time when non-league clubs are vanishing into the abyss, the last thing the CC league needs is another side going by the bye.

Anyway, did Smudge contact you about my grand plan - a UKFF v Combined Counties XI match for November 5th at Godalming Town in aid of Children In Need 2013?  You and Smudge manage the team, we've already got 22 lads primed and ready - no costs, just get 22 lads (with permission from their clubs) down to Godalming and we'll rumble.  Winner takes all, plus hopefully we can raise £5,000 for a worthy cause.

Zippy aka you know who from Glawster.

Of course if the league did take action against Dorking we would have Smudge on here having a right pop at the league.  Instead they do, what I consider to be, the right thing by Dorking and Chubby has a go.

No win for the league really is it.  Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Thanks Kroons !

The one goal-mouth in question han't changed in the last five years or so. but it took an eagle eyed Ryman referee to spot the error.

Hey-Ho. Some light rain will help now.

The Ladies League have also been fantastic, swapping fixtures so they don't have a game at Meadowbank until the first Sunday in November
