Smudge
Was at Croydon FC today, but forget the Football,a 77 year old Supporter Gordon(the Golden Goal Seller) came over ill in the Clubhouse, this caused great concern for all those present.A 999 CALL was made to the Ambulance Service immediately, however 40 Mins later nothing had arrived..However after a three minute conversation with the 999 service, where I personally was talked down too by the Operator the other End,an Ambulance arrived on scene, after passing the Address twice, they were not local Ambulance Personnel. This is not the first occasion this has happened over the past 3 years, once at Mile End Stadium, once at Cobham FC,Twice now at the Arena. We often praise up the Ambulance Service for the excellent work they perform, but now being of an Elderly age,it scares me somewhat. That when Football Grounds are mentioned, their response is utterly DISRACEFUL to say the least. So if anyone sees me at a Ground,in trouble regarding Health issues, please lay it on thick, that you think I am close to kicking the Bucket. dflman
Suggest you discuss the matter with your local St John's Ambulance - they do a great job and might be able to position people at your grounds(s) without a fee

Smudge
Lloyd he is ok mate, just scary to see him unwell.Thought you could rely on the Emergency Services for a decent response time, being the so called Professionals that we are led to believe we can.Alas in this case a second rate outfit. Big J R
It's a known fact that Surrey and South Coast Ambulance service is stretched to it's limits at weekends, just to keep costs down !! We had the same problem at Meadowbank a couple of seasons ago, when a player sustained a badly fractired ankle.
