Losing to the U21s?

Ok, so no Kirby, Hope, Allen, Wallace, Campbell, Whitely from the usual starting 11.

At least we didn't drop any points / crash out of a cup this weekend.

Given the result, I presume the likes of Imber, Lockie, Kendall, Turpin, White, Matata & Osei may be at risk of losing their places, no?

Does anyone have the starting 11? If the mentioned players didn't play then ok at least that is half an excuse. However, this just proves the standard of our fringe players. Perhaps one or two of the U21s could replace these and potentially free up some more funds to further strengthen the squad?

The starting 11 should be irrelevant. A 1st team should never lose to the under 21s.

Of course you'd expect these players to return next week though granted.

It just seems like a very negative atmosphere and feeling about where the club is going at the moment.

"It just seems like a very negative atmosphere and feeling about where the club is going at the moment".

A worrying comment/opinion don't you think ?

Sure there are a few thinking the same.

IMO some of the first team squad signed this season are just taking the Club backwards.

In My Opinion, Players in the squad such as Hahn, Matata, Hammatt and Stevens are not taking the Club forward.

In My Opinion they are/were good Ryman North level.

Premier is a big step up.

All nice Guys, but that is not the point.

Johnston and Pennant were the same - although now left of course.

Are Green and Da Silva still on the books, as we don't see them.

All about opinions, I don't expect Comeon, EU or others to agree with mine, but there is only One Manager and he stands or falls by those decisions.

Lets hope the new signings of McCluskey, Elmes and Olondo improve the quality of the squad.

October could prove to be a difficult month.

I know it's not really anything to do with me,but some things you can't help comment on.

For me,that's bad management.

Why put yourself in a position where you can be ridiculed by losing to your youth side.

Surely they should of just mixed the teams up a bit rather than risking the morale of the team, which probably isn't too high after recent defeats, get any worse.

Paolo Di Canio found that out not long back.

Oh! Come on peeps!

Turpin - First time in an Enfield shirt

Olando - Ditto

Hahn - No appearances yet this season

Hammet - Only one first team appearance

Da Silva - only two first team appearances

The Under 21's as far as I am aware have been together for many years and are performing well in the reserve section. Nearly 50% of the team that turned out against them had not played together this season. I have always thought that football is a team game and teams only work when there are settled players. Look at Arsenal this season. The playing staff are the same as last year apart from Odzil but they are doing well. Is it because the players have suddenly improved. Of course not - It is because they know each others pattern of play and play together as a unit.

What impressed me about Hornchurch was their passing and directness - they seemed to know what each player was capable of and played to their strengths. At times we do not do that. We were as skilful - if not more skilful at times but they had better team work. It will come and with Whitely there is a new champion in the making!
