Good point in my opinion. Egham's going to be a tough fixture for any team in this league particularly away from home.

not too displeased with the draw though have to feel that considering we had so many chances early on and late on that its a game we maybe could and should have won.

Agree with Chris, a decent point against a good side who will do fairly well. But we should have won with the chances we had and I think the players will be feeling the same.

I think the main thing was to not lose and keep the unbeaten run going. A good point but could have won it time and time again in last 10 mins

3 Spirit Thank you for clarifying your position and yes I am well aware there are those who are scheming to damage the forum Aiden I agree with you but don't see why this forum needs to be closed When registering by correct name was discussed recently I can recall a few people questioning whether it would make a difference but I don't recall anyone outright refusing to consider it Why cant the current membership of this forum be required to identify themselves? Currently there is some control through moderators of this forum that would not be the case if comment is forced onto another forum or the social media or press. I think it was Lyndon Johnson who said it was better to have someone inside the tent pissing out than the alternative lol

I'm not sure why some people think it was a good point. 

 

I'm in agreement with Bakes, disappointed with the performance but with the hat-full of chances we created and missed we really should have won the game comfortably.

 

Also looks like we're now down to 2 fit forwards with JD getting injured.

we just were not at all composed or clinical when the chances presented themselves. we had more than enough chances to win 2 or 3 games but if you wanna get promoted you have to be ruthless in games like this when your on top.

 

definitely a missed opportunity and now with Dyer injured, Warren Harris suspension to come and Wheeler looking completely unfit we haven't got too many attacking options

 

anyone know where Couch was today?

Thought it was a great game today. Really enjoyed it. Great atmosphere too with  a much higher crowd than Egham normally get.

 

Think it was Ed's 4th card actually, may be wrong.

 

Yes we had lots of chances but we could have easily lost it as well as won it, there were two sides out there and both were battling hard.

 

Anyone suggesting Egham might be an easy touch are way out IMO.

From my point of view I thought that they played very well 11v10 and were possibly the better side back then.

 

Also when you have someone who can near enough throw it into the box from areas just past the half-way line with pace, power and accuracy behind the throw its a huge test for your defence, as other teams will find out.

 

Draw a fair result IMO.

I thought when we were 11 v 11 we looked the better team,then when we were 11 v 10 they looked the better team! Then when it was 10 v 10 it was an even contest but we should have taken one of the three chances that came our way in the last ten minutes of the game.

 

My man of the match today was Jamie McClurg,thought he worked his socks off.Also thought Ollie Burgess put in a good shift,too.

Our defence looked incredibly shaky for most part and Egham's first goal was a gift.

Darren Wheeler seemed totally out of sorts.

 

I know it takes time to settle into a new team but am at a loss to know what Rob Carrick's natural game is,as he doesn't seem to tackle much and is finding it difficult to get on the ball.I thought when he came on it was the right call and expected far more from him than he offered.This is always the problem with dual registerd players or loan signings,if the player knows they are only a temporary solution.

 

I don't think taking 1 point away to a good Egham side is a bad result especially the way the game turned out to be.

I think overall 1-1 was a fair result but like many slightly disappointed that we never took the 3 points with the opportunities we had at the end. Ed Smith, I believe is absolute class, but not squaring that ball to Hatchet was IMO rather selfish and 'going for glory'. However not many teams will take points off Egham this year and they have a very good balance in their team. I expect to see them in the top 5 come the end of the season.

 

As for us, I think it is really starting to click now and players are starting to know how each other plays. With a few still to return from injury aswel things are looking positive. Adam Foulser will be a massive boost when he's back playing. For any management team, losing your skipper is bloody hard. COYR

Disappointing after recent results with a couple of the players decidedly below par..........we clearly for the most part have the better players but even they made a few wrong decisions at important moments.

 

A point is okay in terms of progress up the league....top six is almost a play off position!!

 

Though Ryan O  'Toole(Assisted by team mates !) made sure they got Harris  sent off......................the Ronaldo type wink seemed to confirm that.
