FA Youth Cup Update

Recommended Posts

good luck to the Camberley lads,I was a part of the youth team that went to the 3rd round in 75/76 along the way we beat a very strong Southall team at thier place in round 1, in round 2 we beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2 1 at Krooner Park (I got the winner )and then we played Charlton Athletic at the Valley and against all odds we drew 2 2,unfortunately we had a player sent off in the replay and went down 5 1 in front of over 600 hundred fans,we all went on to play at a decent level and Paul McKinnon went on to play proffessionally

Hopefully will be a good night at Camberley tomorrow evening, the lads have worked hard and have been rested from senior football this weekend to make sure of avoiding injuries and to give them their best shot. Good luck to Tim, Craig, Andy and the players.

Chipstead 2 horley 1.

A very even game. Chips had a goal ruled out for offside after about 10mins. We missed a penalty on about 30 mins. We then had a man sent off on 55 mins, last man.

Then it could of gone either way even though we had 10 men we created a few good chances and didn't take them.

As the manager I'm so proud of my lads, considering they are mostly 15 and 16 year olds they did me, themselves and the club proud tonight and unlucky not to go through.

Good luck to chipstead in the next round.
