FA Youth Cup Update

Recommended Posts

To be honest Stan half of my youth team are under 16s so what they have achieved so far in the fa cup is tremendous. They have 3 seasons at this age group. As long as they continue to improve I'm sure a lot of them will progress to the 1st team.

Just went through last nights list - 6 are 15/16 and the other 9 are 16/17.

There are some very strong sides in the SYL this season!

Thanks HTFC and CC, great futures for these clubs if you can keep these squads together and continue to develop them.

You might think that Stan but many kids get to a certain age and simply drift out of football, even though they are quite talented.

Far too many other attractions nowadays but, I guess, that's progress.

Wood have produced good players back in the day but running youth football is both time consuming and expensive.

Leon Britton and Steve Sidwell started at Wibbandune for example.

University is a big drain. We lose loads of players as they insist of going to places like Leeds or Aberdeen Unis. It would be nice if they all went to Guildford or Reading Unis as they could still play for us but hey ho.

We use our U18s a lot in the ressies and some make it through to the first team. I'm not sure if Mr. Oakley who comes on this forum ever did it but a couple of seasons ago we had a player who scored for both our U18 teams, our ressies and the first team in the same season.

Camberley v Bristol Rovers confirmed for Monday 4th November by the way. 7.45pm.

One of the main causes being on reaching 18, is 'Booze' and 'Birds', but not neccesarily in that order, Chris !!

Will be down on the 4th to watch the latest talented players give it a go against another pro team! Future is bright for Camberley.
