nah-simply pointing out that personally, I hope this idea of beheading the referee doesn't catch on.

Here's today dilemma -

given the choice of having the Saturdays referee in our next 3 home games-or the games simply can't be played ,what would you chose ?

I don't know-but suspect most would want the games played-which is why no  matter what- do we need to reflect that without a referee-games simply do not get played.

and as I post earlier-if ref's in the premiership only get 28%of key decisions correct-what hope is there at ryman level ?

Yes-it makes so many results a bit of a lottery-but the beast teams still win more than most-as they realise that they need to be at least two goals better than the opposition-as in most games-a wrong decision will lead to a goal for the other side-so you just have to be good enough  to be two goals ahead/better

Eventually there will not be referees, they will have been replaced by technology. That process has already started at the top level of the game with goal-line technology. Obviously that's too expensive for non-league now but the thing about technology is that it becomes ever more accessible and adaptable. Eventually you will have somebody in the stand with a hand-held device monitoring every action on the pitch and giving decisions. Most of us might be dead by then but it will happen.

I'm sorry to say this but I really am sick and tired of the whole "Respect" campaign as it pertains to respecting match officials.

I was brought up to believe that "Respect" was something that had to be earned and wasn't something that could be demanded (at least in a democracy anyway). Given the quality of the officiating we've witnessed so far this season I really struggle to give the guys in black even the benefit of the doubt. It seems since they are now protected under the banner of "Respect" they no longer need to worry about being found wanting and can just exercise their own egos to their heart's content.

Mind you I see from the Ryman website that ex-ref and Good Old Boy Turvey has received further recognition for the great job he's done in forwarding the cause of grass roots football!

However if we took a tip from Brian Clough I think we would have the advantage.

If we discipline our players not to challenge any decision, accept everything and just get on with playing football, I suspect a lot more might go in our favour. Easier said than done I suspect..

I agree-and to be fair-I think that's exactly what SOHO do-not as though we have a massive squad-and always one or two injured/unavailable etc-plus us armchair managers have no idea what goes on in training, and how the scouting reports influence the team selection.

Good luck again to the walking walking wounded tonight-spine depleted as per official site-Holloway, vines, kinch (didn't seem injured Saturday )  probably all out.

so avery goes to defence/ademeno to central midfield a bit depleted tonight then.that lack of additional central defender is costing us a bit ,especially with beales playing when injured and may 'break down' ?

Am well aware that there will be times when changing the team is unavoidable but lately some players within the category as being the best eleven (imo) & who have been putting in a good shift have then been demoted to the bench in the following game yet have still come on later in that game. So those players are fit at least

Whenever possible I would prefer to see a settled eleven and as much match time as is possible to those that are showing good form.

well done soho for the short term fix.

still maintain that its central defence that needs the permanent strengthening though--need three central defenders.

will it be the injured beales alongside avery tonight, or beales and walsh.

either way- fingers crossed for a point or three

thought similarly-but it didn't happen just the same.

Rather lose tonight and win on Saturday though-that's the big one that matters.

desperate for the prize money.

by CH  sitting it out-it may have done a few favours as he can get an different view of whats working and whats not

I would like to win ALL games Michael. However now that we have lost this one it is very important we reverse the result on Saturday. I agree on that.

Please lets not go through a 6 game losing streak again. Socks need pulling up starting on Saturday.
