Slough Town vs Barton Rovers

Forgive me here, but would someone care to explain about the MyFc members comments I keep reading about.

OK, I get what it is all about, but MyFc members are not necessarily Slough fans  (right?) or even from this area, so why do we expect the gate to be bumped up with a number of the members.

You are absolutely right.... there are approximately 1,000 MYFC members from all around the world, very few of whom are currently Slough Town fans.

As they receive articles on matches, match highlights and photos, and reports from the managers and Chairman it is possible individually their affiliation with Slough Town could develop and they could become fans.

I know of some MYFC members who have attended a match or matches from Stevenage, Leicester, Swindon, Portsmouth and Manchester and they have been complimentary about how friendly and welcoming the Slough Town fans and club officials have been and said they will be returning to see more matches..... but I think it is probably unrealistic to expect them to attend in sufficient numbers to have a significant impact on the attendance figures.

There are signs though that many, although remote from Slough, are developing an affinity with the club, as they have:-

(i) donated funds for the building of the TV gantry so all home matches can be professionally filmed (highlights available to all fans registered for the Slough Town Newsletter)

(ii) MYFC individuals have donated a couple of hundred pounds for Gilmore shorts for a couple of the current squad to assist with injuries they are carrying

(iii) individually placed orders so far for approximately 40 away shirts which will be going to Brazil, Germany, USA, Norway, Finland, Australia etc

(iv) purchased approximately £1,000 of away golden goal tickets to raise funds to film some away games (highlights will be available to Slough Town fans, and the more tickets sold the more away matches that will be available..... so if any Slough fans would like to purchase away golden goal tickets they will see benefits from doing so).

We're very unlucky with injuries, but with Harrison & Lake probably out we do have a ready made replacement in Dominic Rhone at left back.

Not anymore it would seem - http://www.sloughtownfc.net/article/453/Squad-and-injuries-update

Probably Blount in and the Wooz, the Paulo Maldini of the Southern Gas League, out to left back for Ashford. I'd leave the rest unchanged.

Thanks Curtis for letting us know to what extent MyFC members are currently helping to 'support' Slough Town.

Obviously, most MyFC members are not currently Slough fans but are 'Slough Supporters'.

As you say, hopefully in time some will become Slough fans.

Not sure how many MyFC members to expect, but with a membership of 1000, then only 5-10% of that would boost gates by 50-100.What I am seeing is a number of old Slough fans returning and think that is where the numbers are growing from - did note Mr Thomas with his boys - did you see any of the game Gary?

I saw all the goals but at the same time looking forward to seeing the highlights on the newsletter (should go out this evening if i can get into YouTube!)
