ETFC v Lowestoft

Poor first half but the players for once kept their heads even at 2-0 down and earned a deserved point. Nobody really outstanding, just a solid hardworking display by all the players, including the subs.

Great goal by Corey, he seems to be getting better every game. And I must mention Noel Imber. Great save that was destined for the top corner when we were 2 down.

3 wins, 2 draws and 0 defeats at home. If it's still 0 defeats on Tuesday I'll be happy.

Agree that there were no real stand out performers. Good to see Whitely score again. The experiment with Osei up front didnt work and it looked like Liam never really recovered from the early injury. Best player for Town was Kirby IMO but i still feel we're short in midfield.

Personally I think that the fact that we are competing with a team like Lowestoft and their undoubted financial clout is testament to how far we have come as a club. ( Bradley Woods -Garness he was injured yesterday and travels from Watford to play there says it all ) . The players dug deep and for the final 30 minutes were on top. Steve in my opinion made a brave decision to take off our top scorer when still 2-1 down and it came off. Walids performance for those 10 minutes caused all sorts of problems and he set up the equaliser. We are progressing slowly but surely , can we expect anymore right now ?

match highlights below from some random angles at times from the usual one as I was juggling parent duties (the boy is now a fully fledged Towner...taken sometime but he is asking to come back next week every week now... the smile on his face when Gunz high fived him before the game was brilliant!) with camera work. managed to get all four goals though and Noel's save in the 2nd half.

to come back from 0-2 and nearly win it at the end shows the squad are together and has some real spirit running though it.

Anton Olondo - http://www.footballdatabase.eu/football.joueurs.anton.olondo.100603.en.html     learnt his trade at Athletic Bilbao.  described as a midfield maestro on other websites.

Looking forward to Tuesday night now!

Sorry to moan, but the use of Osei up front was pointless as all we did was play long high balls to him.

He never had a chance.

How tall is he ?

Is heading his strength ?

If he is to stay in that position, play the ball along the ground and it "might" work.

Is it not about using players to the best of their ability ?

He does look well over 6 feet so I don't think height or heading is the problem (he did get that very well taken headed goal at Redbridge).

Remember he's 18 (only recently I think), so he's still finding his feet a bit. He can run all day long and we've got to try him out at some point. It wasn't his day on Saturday but I'm encouraged that Steve has the confidence to start him.

There's a tough game tomorrow night so we need all the squad to get game time to keep their sharpnish.

He's been on the bench all season to date and to judge on 1 performance is silly. We didnt play to his strengths but tomorrow may be different. Will be interesting to see the team selection tomorrow. Will Olando play?

Hold it,

I did not complain about Osei playing - I questioned the tactics of playing high balls to him all afternoon.

I also stated that balls to feet may be better.

On Saturday their 6 ( captain ) sat on Osie all afternoon, preventing any long high balls being won.

Okay.
