hotspur
Wondered if we could have got a friendly somewhere to keep the momentum going ?
Curtis
It's possibly a welcome break to get the full squad injury free before the Saturday and then Tuesday fixtures.
Mark44
Agree totally, with all the injuries and players carrying knock think the time is better used getting a full strength team..... On any other occasion I would have agreed with a friendly to keep match sharpness......
Neil Baker
Correct both Mark's, we still have the following injuries : Adam Foulser (torn adductor) George Short (elbow) Ben Edwards (groin injury that he picked up at Rugby), Scott Harris (turned ankle at Rugby) Wes Harrison (Hamstring) We are hopeful that come Saturday Ben, Hatchett and Wes will be available, however both Foulser and George are a few weeks away. But to arrange a friendly with a stretched squad is not on our list of priorities.
Mr Rebel
only concern about not having played in some time is that we are a bit off the pace at the start of Saturday's game against a much improved Barton side. confident that as long as we have nearly a full squad we can make sure its not too much of a factor
Irishadrian
Remember though that Barton 4 days before they meet us will have just completed the 2nd of 2 tough games in 4 days They wont be rested and will be carrying a few strains and knocks. 3spirit
I think a rest is a good thing for the Slough squad. I mean it's not as if we never played many pre-season games and because our start hasn't been the most productive in way of points gained, this rest period could be a blessing in disguise, given the time the players can get to recondition themselves, and in the process getting them gee-ed up and raring to go for Barton game.
