The League's never learn

Given all the fixture congestion last year why have we had a free saturday and two free midweeks when we have decent pitches and weather ?

It's just common sense to plan for a game in the event of draws or early exits and then stand down officials if necessary rather than scramble around trying to switch it all on at short notice ??

Surely it must be more sensible to get ahead of the game and mitigate what the future weather challenges may bring...especially after the past couple of winters...The club should be trying to force matters so we avoid the issues we had from albeit a successful cup run last year which probably cost us a promotion as we were twiddling our thumbs most weeks during september and october....will the leagues ever learn !

Not sure about your league but last Tuesday when England had an important game against Ukraine, most Ryman Premier fans were forced to choose between club or country as there was pretty much a full fixture list that night.Despite the previous Tuesday,no games being scheduled to my knowledge.

I know a couple of clubs moved their games back or forward to avoid a clash but others like ours (afc hornchurch) had no choice but to play the game that night as we can't use Monday or Wednesdays due to our groundshare with the local athletics club.

Stupidity rules it seems!!!

going by the quality of the games played by the national team then it is a no brainer the club wins every time .

Unfortunately not everyone sees it like that.

Most clubs have a hardcore of fans who will choose to watch club before country but every club relies on drifting fans.By playing league fixtures the same day as the national team not only are you making sure the hardcore club fans can't watch their national side but the club suffers due to lack of interest from the drifting fans
