Billericay Town Unofficial
A very different game but the same outcome! Leiston dealt with Billericay a lot better today and Town's passing game never really got going. Both teams created some good chances but both keepers were on great form. Joe Benjamin's first touch was sharper and he had a great game up front but dropped off a bit when he was pushed outwide. The subs made a real difference, as was noticed by several spectators. Ricky offered a different option and the Leiston defenders never really got to grips with him. He finished well for his goal. The second goal was really well taken on the volley. It wasn't a classic but it showed Billericay can scrap it out when they need to. The final score didn't reflect how well Leiston played without it flattering Billericay. The Blues took two of their chances which ultimately is what counts. Two wins on the bounce will hopefully see Town push on and have a decent run. Before the game I was pleased to hear Tenpole Tudor, Cult, AC/DC (my second favourite band) and Motorhead (fifth favourites). Excellent work that man! Bill of Shenfield
Missed the last few games due to holiday but nice to come back and watch a good game with a Billericay win.
billericayboy28
Can't complain with a win! Keeping a clean sheet is a bonus too! We wasn't as good as we were on Tuesday night but who cares, we're in the next round... does anyone know when the draw will take place? Hope we keep up these solid performances COYB
GazzaBTFC
Was never going to be the same as Tuesday as Leiston's manager had made five changes to the side that played on Tuesday. They packed the midfield and tried to stop us playing which by and large, was a success until Craig made the subs. Nice to see that we have the quality to bring on to change the game... that may make the difference this season, provided we can keep this squad together. As for the play list... thanks. Thought there was too much '80's in there...not that Mrs. C was complaining...
The Mighty Blue
Solid performance from the lads, everyone put a good shift in but I think a special shout out needs to go to Billy Lumley who basically won us the game was absolutely superb and by far my MOTM. Now into the the next round. COYB I fancy a trip to Wembley
blue pilgrim
Thought it was an enjoyable game with both sides keeping the ball down and trying to play a passing game. Both keepers had fine games but Ricky Sappleton made his goal look easy with a quality finish .Although Leiston had chances, Town worked hard to break them down and in the end were worthy winners. Biggest disappointment was the Crowd - Tuesday, I can understand but not today. Hopefully, if we can keep our positive approach, the crowds will build up again. jl
First clean sheet -very happy with that. Well done to Billy for a couple of great saves. We are fortunate to be able to bring on players of Ricky and Robbo's quality who both delivered with great strikes. Tough game Tuesday but we are in much better shape now so hopefully we can get a result on Pikey Island COYB

Well done fella's Also Lowestoft ,Bury Town and Carshalton all in our league got knocked out by lower division teams, and Guernsey made it through . Ryan.c
Classic cup tie. End to end stuff that could've gone either way. Relieved to get through a tricky tie and bank £3,000! Again, just a shame so few people there to see it. Bring on the C*****!
Rich.m
Another good result for us, we didnt give in and kept working which led to us getting in the hat tomorrow! It was nice to see us score from there free kick rather than the other way round! Like others have said, MoM for me was lumley he made 2 top class saves to maintain the clean sheet. We need to build on that starting at the ricay rejects on tuesday!
GazzaBTFC
I would agree with Lumley as man of the match... about time a 'keeper who plays well gets recognition!!!
jl
One point I would make is that we all moan when we just lump it forward so we have to cut the players some slack when they try to pass it. I know it's hard to believe but we are not Barcelona and passes will go astray sometimes. We have to encourage the players to keep trying it not moan when it goes wrong otherwise they will just revert to hoofball because its easier. Moan over.
