FA Cup Rule 15e. A player shall not play for more than one Club in the Competition in the same season.

FA Cup Rule 15g. A substitute who does not play in a match is entitled to play for another Club in the Competition in the same season.

Therefore, a (non-playing) substitute is deemed not to have played and so

FA Cup Rule 16b. Subject to 16c. below, where an ineligible player plays for a club in a Competition match, the Professional Game Board shall remove the club from the Competition, and may impose further penalties against the club.

does not apply.

Against London Apsa, they brought on a sub that was actually named in the starting 11.

Would thus just be a telling off?

I believe the relevant section of the rules of the FA Vase is Rule 15c., which states "..prior to the substitution being made the Club must identify to the Match Officials the number of the player out and the player in, in accordance with the Official Team Sheet...".

Therefore, unless I'm mistaken, the substitution should not have been allowed by the Match Officials. Where it goes from there, is not clear in the rules.........
