BlueBoydie
They might be smashing Cray right now, but Maidstone have done non-league football proud IMO with this letter to the FA... http://maidstoneunited.blogspot.co.uk/2013/09/speaking-up-for-our-national-game.html?m=
dflman
Any mention of the fact the European boys for year have learnt to play on smaller pitches which allows them to properly develop their skills

Zippy
Agree 100%, but when you have over privileged suits who couldn't give a toss (and one on an alleged £600k a year with a reported gambling problem) then nothing is going to change. Take heart though - the relics on the FAW could easily pass for a Time Team discovery and they've offered Chris Coleman four more years. At this rate, Wales will be lucky to beat San Marino in the future! If you get time, read John Sitton's thoughts on England in the International game. 'F-ed for years to come' is his evaluation. michael
Have always advocated 3G myself-simply because of the revenue stream it can bring with it-being simply ensuring that clubs can fulfil their fixtures-or when marketed correctly-bringing the community into the club with revenue from pitch hire and catering/bar takings etc. If ever the ground development does get off the ground at MFC, the dalays would be worth it ,if it enabled the main pitch to also be 3G-and the FA will change their stance re: this type of pitch in the very near future
Coffin Ender
Let's be honest, it's basically a plea to let his club be promoted with the 3G with the England stuff tacked on the front. As regards England, I'm largely indifferent to how they do. I support Margate and that's it. International football is dying (top-level club football is regarded by players and more and more fans as the pinnacle) and a winter World Cup in 2022 will probably kill it for once and for all. missunderstood
Surely what Maidstone have achieved in such a short time should be an inspiration to all non league clubs.
dflman
what we have here is a you tube video - let's name the participant into their roles but in a different way :- The Deer represent the game in England from the Conference upwards The Dog (Fenton) is Maidstone FC thinking they have the right to go on to higher things The Owner is the chairman of Maidstone frantically trying to make sure the way is smoothed for them Here we go :- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bmpONxJ7JSw
seanmacrook
I'm not sure why Maidstone are kicking up like this. The reason its not allowed in the conference is there has been no need to vote on the issue, if Maidstone get promoted then the vote will happen, the conses is its a no brainer and Maidstone will be allowed. That's why there is no vote, its not anti 3g our any other agenda its simply there has been no need to vote yet. I think the whole article just smacks look at us look what where doing, surprisingly they missed out the views of there fans and staff on the number of impact injuries they have picked up due to 3g. There is a reason your the only club with it.
dflman
They managed to get a good mention on Radio Kent Sports bulletins this morning. Their chairman just sounded as if he was whining
