Games 10th & 11th September

Would agree with much of that Carthorse.  Certainly Horley deserved extra time and were unlucky to lose in the end.

However, I felt that we dominated the first half and should have gone in well ahead. Constant pressure with the occasional counter attack is the only way to describe it.

I also thought that our second half was the worst we had played all season. Our passing broke down completely and I'm sure our people will be working on that particular issue. That said we showed the mark of a good team by fighting back, scoring a fantastic equaliser and then hitting the bar from close range just before we scored the winner. Also our Captain was away as was one of our main midfielders.

As I say, a little harsh on Horley who gave us a very good game in the second half and we must learn to turn our possession into goals when we are having spells like we did in the first half or we will get caught at times.

The incident with the ref over ruling the assistant on a corner decision was odd, especially when the Assistant appeared to have the better view, but all I will say is that the ref went over and had a chat with him, so may have been pointing out that he saw something from his angle that the Assistant might not have seen. I am guessing though and it's possible he went over for another reason.

As for Whyteleafe, 3-1 was a fairer reflection of the match you refer to, but they are a good side. I will stress that we got a draw there in the first place, but you will have a tough game, even though they got battered by Sevenoaks last night, who you guys have already beaten handsomely.

We of course meet Whyteleafe once more on Saturday week in the Vase.......

Prem: Colliers Wood Utd 3-4 Frimley Green.

Not a bad game played in constant rain. Frimley were 2-0, 3-1 and 4-2 up but CWU never gave up and nearly got it to 4-4. Frimley were relieved when the final whistle eventually went. Ref was a bit busy and booked quite a few. Managed to get all 7 goals on camera more by luck than judgement, as wasn't filming the whole game!

Edit - In fact they were 3-0 up! Memory like a sieve!

Yes mate, was given the night off so I went to watch it. Once Epsom went to 10 they controlled the game. We looked like we had a few tired heads and started to result to direct football and it was bread and butter for the Epsom defence. Good game tho! Pitch was the best I've seen it at chalky lane too. Hopefully it's still like that for the league and league cup game! Thought you had a good game too.
