This forum is again starting to degenerate to the level of last season. How are we

supposed to attract new support, players or sponsorship when so-called supporters

of our club are allowed to post the  type of detrimental comments which we have to

endure? Can something please be done.

I would not like to see it closed down. What I would like is that anyone who is allowed to post has to

possibly be given some kind of authorisation code to sign on  IN PERSON. That way we could get shot

of these anonymous idiots and people would be more accountable, as every poster would be known

to the club.

Not closed, anyone can join but they have to be known by someone associated with the club/forum, the idea

being to rid ourselves of those hiding behind their anonymity.

Talk about  pot kettle and black-I doubt Windsor rebel is your birth name-so you are unknown to  to us!!

Will see what can be done where we have a defined user list, which can be modified as required, for this section of the foru

Why not shut it down altogether then the poor sensitive posters wont get upset when people disagree with them-how childish.

There again Gary if you believe in FREEDOM OF SPEECH !!

Whilst I rarely agree with the way some posters put over their points of view, I will defend their rights to have a contrary viewpoint.  We should not be in a position whereby someone can not post because their opinion may offend the club.  This is an unofficial forum, not club sanctioned anyway. We have forum rules, if they are broken then fair enough deal accordingly, but being outspoken or a pain in the neck, is not against the rules.  A few users are clever in that respect, they go for a bite, but within the rules ie no personal abuse.  The original question asked how are we going to get new members or something like that, how are newbies going to get registered as they will not be known to the club.  I know from conversations last night, that I may be in the minority here, but it will not be the first time...

Nigel (aka Windsor Rebel) -  I'm beginning to think that you only started this topic as a clever ploy to get the ubiqiitous HOTSPUR to reveal himself.

I think there is as much chance of him revealing his identity as there is of Brighton Rebel (aka Warren) running off to Gretna Green with the delectable Sue.

Could agree more, unofficial form not directly linked to club. So when we bring our drivers license etc to be registered how would anyone else (ie roystonjez) say hello and join in the convos?

I believe the forum was very positive start of season, negative results have led to negative comments. I understand that could negatively affect some involved with the club, and that is a shame. We all know what will be said on here after a poor result so why torture yourself and go on it?

If people were being named negatively I would agree that's too much.

Will be interesting to see Jon and Neil's opinion on this? As they seem to be very honest intelligent guys with fair opinions on everything!

Or people could just do what I've been doing for the last few months and adding Hotspur to my ignored users list. I have to click on a link to read what he has posted if I chose to otherwise it is hidden from view.

Remember feed the troll and he will post. Ignore him and he'll soon get bored of speaking to himself.

Sometimes very occasionally hotspur post something interesting or relevant but mostly and bizarrely for someone who purports to support the club he seems to revel in defeat.

So ignore him as I do and it will shut him up. No need to close the forum just let the silence stop him.

I think the players and management have no problem with critisism after a defeat as long as the critisism is in some way or form constructive.

Just to say the performance was rubbish and then slag the players off without any constructive references to the performance and game is just not on.
