Looking at the fixture list and it's not easy for the next couple of months. Even harder than the 7 already played!

7/9/2013 A Canvey Island Ryman Premier 3pm
10/9/2013 A Bury Town Ryman Premier 7.45pm
21/9/2013 H Lowestoft Town Ryman Premier 3pm
24/9/2013 H AFC Hornchurch Ryman Premier 7.45pm
28/9/2013 A Lewes Ryman Premier 3pm
5/10/2013 A Bognor Regis Town Ryman Premier 3pm
12/10/2013 H Billericay Town Ryman Premier 3pm
26/10/2013 A Maidstone United Ryman Premier 3pm

Lewes I think is the next scheduled FA Cup qualifying round so that could be cancelled.

If we can get double figure points from these games I'll be very happy. 3 wins and a draw starting with a first league away victory on Saturday.

  • 1 month later...

Thought I would bring this thread back since a month has passed and 5 of the 8 games listed above played.

It reads 0 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats, so 2 points from 15. Scored 7, conceded 14. Three league games left are the re-arranged game at Lewes, away to Maidstone and home to Billericay.

If we can beat Billericay and keep it respectable at Lewes and Maidstone I'll be happy. Who knows, maybe even a draw at one of the away fixtures?

The defence really needs sorting and urgently. Drop Wild as has been suggested on other threads and get Kirby back there. Why not set up with 3 centre backs if it will help? We've also got Matt Turpin on top of McCluskey, Kirby, Wild and White (and MacKay?). Surely there is a partnership that can at least keep it down to just one goal conceded per game?

Scoring is not a problem. Another goal scoring attacker would be nice, but we have enough going forward if most players are performing. It's clearly the defence that is all at sea. Some hard work on the training ground to shore things up will work wonders.
