Hornchurch v Wealdstone

Eastside Urchin

Recommended Posts

This game is scheduled for Tuesday 10th September

The same day and time as England v Ukraine.

Could our game not be moved back a week where we both have no game??

Why on earth do the Ryman League play games when our national team are playing.

Do they think that we don't give a shit about our national team or do they just not care??

Fckng stupid,am afraid as important a home game it is,that I may just want to watch England as well.

I urge the clubs or league to think about this ridiculous scheduling, the league must know that England are playing at the same time

Cup of tea, it is not the FAs fault this time. England are in a competition like our clubs so it is UEFA or FIFA who decide when the qualifiers take place and what week any international friendly dates are. I am in ukraine for the game and booked my flight months ago, could the clubs and ryman league have not made arrangements for a one off wednesday or monday games? A different night might also get a few extra in, granted it dont work at Thurrock/Purfleet though :)

I forgot to add for once Eastside Urchin is right :) these dates have been known for over a year so maybe the league could have assissted when compiling their fixtures in the summer!

International and European qualifiers always used to be played on a Wednesday night or Saturday afternoon but this changed for the last Euros to Tuesday and Friday nights.

Obviously it benefits clubs this weekend with no premiership or international fixtures but makes it awkward for Tuesday night.

It's up to the clubs to reschedule it if they want. I notice Thamesmead have moved their game against Dulwich back to the Wednesday.

Monday 2nd September 2013
League game with Dulwich delayed by 24 hours.

Just to confirm that our home game against Dulwich Hamlet that was originally scheduled for Tuesday 10th Septebmer 2013 has put back 24 hours to Wednesday 11th September 2013 with a 7.45 pm kick off, this is to avoid a clash with live coverage of England's important World Cup qualifier against Ukraine  which is being show live on ITV1.

Sorry, but the FA and leagues shouldn't give the clubs a choice, they should know that fans want to watch their National team in the first place and just not schedule games for those days.

I want to watch England v Ukraine, they are my country and I want to watch the big game.

I took in Hendon Vs Lowestoft, maybe three seasons ago and that match clashed with an England international (it might also have been Ukraine) and there was a whopping 57 in attendance. That was in the depth of winter and IIRC, the match finished 0-0 and I wondered why I'd bothered.

As an aside, I'm fairly certain that there'll be more goals and incidents in the Hornchurch/Wealdstone match than the En-ger-land one.

Get your bloody tele working them mr mcbride lol

In all fairness,it's about time non league football fans stood up to the Authorities IMO and stopped being treated differently to other football fans higher up the pyramid.

Can you imagine West Ham fans being happy that their premier league game was played at the same time as a World Cup Qualifier,of course they wouldn't,so why are we treated differently.

The gate will be around 150 IMO and a splattering of Wealdstone fans will turn up.

Neither club are playing tonight, and neither club are playing the Tuesday after the England game, where's the fckng sense in that.

Personally, like most Premier league/championship/div 1 & 2 fans, I would like to watch my own club without it clashing with a fcking England Game.

No wonder people are turning away from the Non League game,it just doesn't help itself at times.

The game is on ITV so we shouldn't have problems getting it on the TV, mind you I understand we do have Sky now too (hence cricket rather than Super Mo at the Lewes match)

My most likely plan is to come to the game but stay in the bar watching England all game
