How cool would it be if Bale surprised everyone and gave Kettering £100,000 to get them out of trouble, its a couple of days wages. It always surprises me how big stars do stuff for charity when they could just donate their own cash to the charity direct and be far more respected !

Hmmm perhaps. I think the England players donate national wages to charity.

 

A classic example was lee camp when he moved to derby and negotiated a signing on fee which he gave to qpr to help them out. How times change as they are now throwing money around.

Having been through what Kettering fans are going through I wish them all well. To hear your club is to die is a feeling you wouldn't wish upon anyone. Sadly, I very much doubt Kettering will be the last. Until clubs start living within their means I.e. making sure what you're spending isn't higher than your income every season and to stop putting players and players wages first, many more will start suffering the same fate. Personally, the best thing we've ever done at Windsor is to stop paying a budget, local players who want to play for club, happy environment, no moaning about one player is paid more than another, and we're unbeaten in the league so far. It's a model I just wish all clubs at step 4 and 5 at minimum would adopt.
