ETFC v Thamesmead Town

Chase Side Towner

Does anyone know anything about this lot?

Other than they play in green, have 20 fans, and they're shipping more goals than us.

Is there any more to add?

Their website seems a bit patchy - there's a first team photo that's about three years out of date as it includes Junior Baker.

Some familiar names in the match reports from this season, including former Ilford keeper Rob Budd who always seemed to play out of his skin against us in a losing cause.

Useful 3 points in the bag and well done as you didn't deserve to be on a 4-1 hiding by Wealdstone.

Wingate looked a semi-decent side today (and Lowestoft were once again utter dross) and it'll be a good match in a fortnights time at the Donkey Dome (make sure there's plenty of cold London Pride in the fridge).

Poor very bitty first half and another goal due to poor defending.

That must be at least 5 so far this season - all very similar - which must be sorted.

However, second half, a much better team performance and a super last goal ( flicked header ) from Liam following good team work.

Shame we will have crucial players missing next week.

Out set piece defending is becoming a real cause for concern, as is the fact that teams are targeting our GK at crosses and his reluctance to come from his line. Considering we are generally a bigger side this year why are we conceding? Big players - Wild, Kirby, White, Kendall, Wallace, Hope are all 6ft+

On the plus side, that was the best game I've seen Tyler Campbell have in a long time. Against better opposition we certainly would have missed Kirby yesterday though. I also thought Joe Stevens was excellent and have us the strong stability we've been missing at left back.

Next week will be tough, although Canvey Island haven't started well they will be tough opposition especially without probably our 2 most important players.

One final point, the ultras are trying their best to improve atmosphere and support for the players which is a credit and fantastic. However what are the club themselves doing? It's been raised before on here about pre-match atmosphere yet nothing seems to be done. Pre match music is not loud enough and hardly pulse-raising. The entrance music again not there. Yesterday this was really noticeable as the teams came out it was dead. The game started with a real dullness and we were soon 0-1 down. Any thoughts?

We're still missing far too many gilt-edged chances. With the number of crosses fed into dangerous positions Scott McGleish would've bagged a hat-trick yesterday if he were still lining-up for us! The game should've been over by half-time

That said, a welcome 3 points.
