Karen's Message

Well we've certainly had plenty of time to read that message and Karen too has had plenty of time to put into effect the topics she wrote about. So, is this what we can expect;

1 - Karen has been distributing 500 tickets allowing kids (age limit?) to go free for home Saturday matches. Plenty of time has passed since our last home Saturday match so the Northwood game should be heaving with youngsters.

2 - Ah, more tickets for kiddies, see above.

3 - Steve Castle has clearly been bushing up on his school assembly speeches and probably handing out free tickets. Should add to Saturday's bumper gate (goodness, there could be even more people getting in for free than usual).

4 - Get there early to see the kids play a game of football of their own prior to the main event at which the kiddies will be ballpersons (no chance of City being able to timewaste then after racing into a five goal lead).

5 - Partnership with Community Leisure, not sure what this is about but bet it involves kids somewhere.

6 - Er, um, well, more tickets for the kids via St Albans Leisure. Still, should increase the number of kids at Saturday's match (see points 1-6).

7 - This is an interesting one, a ticket promotion for the start of our FA Cup run - and once that was over (at about 3.20pm) what was to follow?

8 - Talking about offering more tickets to the kids, an excellent idea and in no way covered in points 1-7.

8 - Karen likes the number 8. Soccer Schools, always popular in the past, how did this autumns half term school go? Wonder if there were prizes to be had, maybe something along the lines of free tickets?

9 - Community Leisure to coach kids prior to Saturday matches and then give the kids free tickets, and tickets for their dads costing just £5 (obviously no mums in St Albans like football).

10 - PACE - Any news on this scheme or is it a closely guarded secret.

Has Clarence Park been turned into a creche?

Hi HitS.

You know that I never pass on rumours but I have heard that the Board are to consider the analysis of the various current ticketing schemes as well as a number of alternative initiatives put forward by a small, but perfectly formed, working party that met this week, at the next Board meeting.

As far as the partnership thingy with Community Leisure is concerned [point 9], I also heard that Nick...... Cox [?], the chap from C.L. in the black track-suit top, has left the post to pursue his career at Dacorum D.C. and the company are actively seeking a replacement. A number of the schemes promoted by Nick are in a temporary hiatus as a result.

If true, you heard these things here, first. If not, it's nothing to do with me. [without prejudice, mutatis mutandis, quid pro quo, subject to pre-contract].

Lots of kids come down the park - great!

Now Northwood at home, Northwood are a kind of lump it team and so are we at the moment, so the football is never going to inspire them to stop watching Man U or Arsenal, what's the one thing that may keep them coming back, like many before them - atmosphere and a laugh, which will be sadly lacking <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
